“The Pampa III is a technological lie from president Cristina. She put the boys of La Campora in the factory and we know their incompetence, and this helps to understand Israel's resistance to the deal”, said lawmaker Julio Martinez deputy chief of the Defense Committee in Congress.”

Kirchner... La Campora... technological lie.... yes, a total cock up !!

One can only admire the Argentine govt's ambition. Who else would've considered spending $360 000 000 to purchase the world's most expensive paper weight?

This story gets curiouser and curiouser.

    Buying weapons systems that aren't

A factory supposedly building aircraft without trained engineers.

Only in Argentina, oh ok probably a few other South American “banana republics” too.

“the Cordoba factory has yet to deliver its first Pampa to the Argentine Air Force which was scheduled to take place last March.”

But using the Argentine theory of' Malvinus Mythus' this in fact means that 10 000 Pampas have been delivered.

    Watch out MPA!

“However we are not going to sign the contract, everything is ready for the next president to make the decision”, explained Rossi.”

Unless the next government is not as stupid as Rossi, I hope the contract will be signed, it will leave the FAA behind for the next 25 years.

Is the purpose of this to make the Brits roll around in laughter so badly, that they will be incapable of resisting the invasion force of canoes?

“The Pampa III is a technological lie from president Cristina. She put the boys of La Campora in the factory”

Did the Israelis have to put up with the awful sight of Maximo being squeezed into the cockpit with his face stuck on the top of the canopy as he was shoehorned inside after both seats had been removed?

Hope y'all got a mental picture of that.

Probably the best deal they could get, for the money they had to spend.

Is it just me or does that Pampa III jet look just like an old Folland Gnat from 1955?

Seems to me that if anyone wanted to retake some of their territory back from Argentina, now would be the time to do it.

Airfix do a quick build Typhoon kit for £9.99. This is aimed at 5 year olds so may just be beyond the skills of la campora technicians BUT represents good value for money.

    guffaw, guffaw...to paraphrase Think.

Let me see if I've got this straight:-

    a) Argentina wants to buy 14 30 year old jets from Israel.
    b) Two of them are two seat trainers
    c) Only six are fitted with radar
    d) No weaponry is included in the deal
    e) Aircraft have US engines so Israel will need licence to sell them on
    f) Argentina wants to pay $60 mill down and the rest if and when it can scrape together some more dollars
    g) IAI will get to market Argentina's Pampa III even though Argentina has been unable to produce any

    etc etc.

Exactly who put this deal together Delboy Trotter.

Although, wait a minute, perhaps it's one of Alan Sugar's apprentices!!!

”g) IAI will get to market Argentina's Pampa III even though Argentina has been unable to produce any”

You have only got to see the trainer Israel has bought, a Russian design ironically made by the Italian manufacturer Argentina used to buy from, to understand why they would have great difficulty in selling the Pamper.

Just what planet are Peronists on?
