What's not to like, get rid of the cheap oil, prices increase and IS get poorer. Perhaps there is more to this though.

Civilisations that were annihilated by the Spanish and Portuguese (but mostly the Spanish), and whose people were butchered so you could steal their land.
The Spanish committed acts of genocide in South America. You wiped out entire civilisations and cultures. You raped the land for the resources, and forced the few natives who survived to live in poverty and squalor, whilst at the same time destroying their language and culture. And you still steal from them. And you still stand by while their children starve to death because of the greed of the descendants of the colonists from Spain and Portugal who continue to steal what little they have left.
