Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions, ALE, reports with great sadness the death of polar expeditioner Henry Worsley at a hospital in Punta Arenas, Chile, after complications caused by bacterial peritonitis. Henry returned from Antarctica on January 23 after nearly completing his Shackleton Solo Expedition. Read full article

    @1. I don't really see this as a failure. He died, at the age of 55 and still trying, because his body let him down. How could that be a failure?

    3 Yes, you are correct. Shackleton, Scott and Franklin didnt achieve their objectives but were heroes nether the less.
