Pope Francis will be receiving President Mauricio Macri on February 27, the first official meeting between both leaders since Macri took office in December. The meeting was confirmed by government sources. Read full article
Macri needs to acquire a good conduct certificate as massive layoffs--with intervention of police forces--occur in Fabricaciones Militares.
Meanwhile, the detention of a social leader in Jujuy continues as the Radical governor seeks to quash the movement led by Milagro Sala.
While many in Argentina do not worry in the belief it's only Kirchnerists who are targeted, more end more will soon begin to realize it's the population at large that will be affected by the deep transformations currently in course--still one month away from the Congress resumption.
Guess what Enrique, Macri is a mafia president and argentina is mainly collapsing because kiciloff and the kirchners gutted the reserves to rob the nation. Their fake econony was doomed and they passed the imbalances, the noquis on to macri to do the dirty work. Cfk satires, parodies argentina.... She fuled laughing at china's bubble and how its crash will take down brazil and the country she and timerman hate the most Argentina.... Once a dirtbag nazi ruled the land and timerman represented the argentina of corruption and chaos around the world. Milagro sala? Ugly bitch. Where are all of these kirchnerista human rights activists when monsanto and cfk spray a genocide... Maybe paid off like carlotta... All the dbag kirchneristas predicting doom are just repeating what e. Carrio and foreign observers have been saying for years
CFK ignored multiple requests for meetings when Francis was bishop of BsAs but as soon as he was made pope she was all over him. Francis appears to have a short memory.
And now he seems less willing to meet Macri, who has always been respectful AFAIK, so you have to wonder what his thought process is because it doesn't seem logical unless it is something about keeping enemies close.
@4 As for a good conduct certificate I hardly think Macri needs anything from the pope on that. He's started the process of repairing Indec (do you think that the previous lies of CFK were good conduct?), he's started the process of paying debts (do you think that the refusal to honour signed contracts by CFK was good conduct?), he doesn't appear to be in any way involved with anyone's murder (Nisman...) etc. Macri's popularity is increasing and CFK's is decreasing as people realise the truth which is probably a better indication of his behaviour than any sort of real or imagined endorsement from the pope.
Do you think you deserve a good conduct certificate for misrepresenting the facts? Do you think theft by a social leader in Jujuy is good behaviour?
What a lovely photo that is, spoilt only by the argie Dope of a Pope who I must say looks a little flummoxed!
Argentina has, as a first requirement in the 'Constitution' the role of the RCC in it's political system, an archaic belief that western countries have managed to remove.
I think that says more about the Argentines than anything I would want to comment on.
Such a pity they cannot shrug this despotic gold grabbing middle ages millstone that is the RCC from around their necks.
There are some things that not a single Peronist will ever mention to you. Let me clarify some of them:
Argentina was actually ruled by two parties during the last 70 years. Both parties have the same roots: the Revisionistas ideas whose main ones are that Argentina is a catholic, spanish and economically and culturally self-suficient country that have always suffered the attack of foreign and evil forces such as the freemasons, the British Empire, the USA, the capitalism and the atheism. All evil influences from Anglo-Saxon culture. As a result, the Catholic Church had great influence in both parties.
These two parties were: the militar party, the former army, and the populist party, the Peronism. While the militar party was elitist the populist party was from the people to the people.
Pope Francis had been despised when he was simply bishop but loved by CFK while he became Pope.
Almost the whole Peronist party were received in the Vatican even the most repugnant authoritarian, and corrupt, leaders such as Guillermo Moreno, Milagro Sala, Larroque, etc. The Pope himself covertly suggested that he is a Peronist and preferred another Peronist as the new president but, it seems that, he suggested CFK to change some people involved in drug trafficking such as Anibal Fernandez. But his advice, and suggestions, were not listened by CFK so, after the moment Peronist candidates were formalized he never received CFK again.
We know the rest of the history: Peronist was defeated by a new party that has lots of true liberal inside so the Catholic Churt distrusts the new government of Argentina...it is the first time in decades that new party is ruling the country so they are not happy at all. We all know that Catholic Church doesn't like changes !!
@7 Argentina formally and partially removed the condition, in the 'Constitution', the role of the RCC and President doesn’t need to be Catholic any longer.
8 You mean the sepoys? Argentina is paranoid! Blaming failures on your own inadequacies is a cop out. Argentina needs to pull itself up by its bootstraps and forget about a regresive medieval organisation like the Catholic church. Grow a pair..
@8. Do you know that dilma, crsitina, and their exn ministers in mantega, levy, and kiciloff are jewish? Fellner, the leader of peronism? Hiw does this factor into your conspiración ?
Are you such a buffoon that you don't recognise sarcasm? Of course, you are the same buffoon that I DON'T go apoplectic about - I just find you totally pathetic!
It is not unusual in these debates for a very few atheist or anti-Catholic individuals to make the most weird and totally inexplicable assumptions about His Holiness and/or the Church of Rome. Generally I have no problem with non-believers but they should keep their personal animosities to themselves.
The fact they have no spiritual beliefs is their problems not ours!
@ 19 gordo1
”The fact they have no spiritual beliefs is their problem(s) not ours!”
If only that were true!
ALL religions are a blight on the world and have been so since before the rise of the latest fairy stories which is laughingly known as 'Christianity'.
Why is it that all you 'believers' think you have the right to do what you want without anybody challenging your hypocritical actions?
Go look at Nigeria and how the people are convinced that spending their income on religion means they will be in paradise when they die even though they and their children are in penury now!
And this is replicated across the world in poor areas.
If your beloved RCC really carried out what it preaches I would be the first to admire it but it doesn't does it?
And FATTY, sell you house, your car and liquidate your finances and give it all to your local poor whether that be the UK or Spain: that way I would laud your actions.
I am so pleased to have provoked you to come out with all your assumed opinions such as Why is it that all you 'believers' think you have the right to do what you want without anybody challenging your hypocritical actions? This statement is just plain stupid as is the rest of your post.
What an opinionated buffoon! I really do feel sorry for you - you seem to be an embittered soul!
But you haven't tackled the issues I have raised of answered the final question, have you.
Not embittered, just exasperated with the stupidity of all religions and their delusional followers holding the rest of humanity back or in the case of Jihadists murdering 'non-believers' including the likes of you.
So given the Jihadi 'problem', are you going to alter your 'beliefs' AGAIN, this time to Islam?
I would love to see you in a burka. You would fit right in!
Quite simple. Because politics is not engineering. It's not a straith line. How can you understand a diplomatic agreement between Argentina and Iran over a terrorist attack promoted by Hector Timerman? He is jewist and USA citizen....
@ I pointed out that ridiculousness all over this page and no one wanted to hear it. As soon as timerman retires he spoke out against iran because hes netanyahus friend. Timerman signed a deal between irsn and argentina... Ok did he ruin argentinas economy and reputation? Yes.
Although it is absolutely no business of yours, like many Christians I already tithe a fixed percentage of my gross income to deserving charities. Does that satisfy you?
I don't sit on my arse in a developing country criticising it and its neighbours and their language and customs and setting myself up as a benevolent member of its society. You are a know-nothing basket case!
I clearly know more than you ever will about the actual political position in Uruguay and if you could understood my posts you would know the problems the real people have here.
Do you not understand what 'having all my money invested here' implies? I have far more invested in Uruguay than ANY professional people I know because they are on the breadline and THAT is simply because of the stupid children that 'rule' us can't accept that business is good for the country and rely solely on taxing everybody at every turn.
You are the archetypal 'do-gooder' who cannot understand reality as it applies to SA.
YOU should come and live here for a few years and see for yourself instead of spouting bollocks. But on second thought we have enough idiots here: in the government.
PS you are correct about the language, even the Spanish laugh at the Uruguayos who 'go back to Spain' having never been there or having any real link there. But you didn't know that either, did you?
But keep throwing insults, it must make you feel like a real Christian.
@28 ChrisR
I know more about Latin America than you will ever know. I live and worked in four different Latin American republics for a total of over 30 years and my wife is a native of one of them. We visit her country at least yearly and stay for several weeks - we are shortly leaving for a trip to Central America and Panamá. Furthermore, my brother lives in a neighbouring country to Uruguay where he has been since 1959 and has become a citizen there.
Also, I was the European Representative for a major Latin American bank for over 10 years with our office in the City of London. So, as far as Latin America, is concerned you are the person who cannot understand reality as it applies to SA.
So what with b------s and c--t(which you use in another thread) we can see exactly what sort of idiot you are- a foulmouthed (tax?)exile from the UK who knows sweet FA about the continent he lives in and he's is only taking advantage of the naivety of the natives.
As far as knowledge about the actual political position in Uruguay - you might care to know I read the websites of El País, La República and Brecha on a daily basis.

I just LOVE that penultimate paragraph of yours, it's not at all racist, is it?
Being serious for a moment, please take precautions when you go to Central America and Panama, we don't want either of you getting a 'Dengue and Zika complex' infection because you may become seriously ill: the effects of such a complex are not at all understood at this time.
Does this also mean that you will be incommunicado for several weeks?
@30 ChrisR
