Gotta love Corbyn. As usual from the far-left, they have no idea how out of touch they are with, not only reality, but the voters.

Why anyone bothers quoting him or giving him space in articles is beyond me. It a sheer waste of time.

    @2 Skip

But us Brits LOVE to take the piss out of political idiots such as Corbyn and Kinnock.

Remember the video of Kinnockio when he fell over in the sea during his 'Presidential' type general election attempt which failed again!

But he and Gladys weren't stupid, they both obtained high paying jobs at the EU and both are millionaires now!

Corbyn is a fool. Sturgeon is also a fool.

Firstly, in this uncertain world we need defence, especially if countries like Iran and North Korea are trying (and possibly succeeding) in developing nuclear weapons, as well as having them as a deterrent to Putin's and China's ambitions.

Secondly, it is far cheaper to upgrade stuff, than to scrap it, and suddenly realise you've made a mistake and try to rebuild from scratch.

Thirdly, thousands of Scottish jobs depend on Trident (and will do on it's replacement) and if it were scrapped they'd all be unemployed. No wonder the Unions have basically told Corbyn and Sturgeon to Foxtrot Oscar!

I'm actually going to be curious about the next general election, due to set place in just over 4 years time. I wonder just how 'popular' the SNP will still be with the Scottish people, given the string of 'embarrassments' already caused by a number of SNP MP's, and the fact that unless you live in a big city in Scotland you just don't exist in the SNP's eyes.

As for Corbyn, I will be extremely surprised if he's still leader of the Labour party in 4 years time, but I keep cheering him on. The more he destroy's Labour from within, the more I like him.

With luck Labour will never again be in a position to destroy the UK's economy as it has the last 2 times they've been in power.

Then the Conservatives have to come in and make all the hard, and unpopular decisions in order to fix things, then Labour have the cheek to:

    a. berate them for it
    b. take the credit for the country being back in the black the next time they persuade the country to vote for them (usually every generation or so)

So I hope Trident is replaced. It will secure a lot of people's jobs (not only in Scotland but in other parts of the country too), and it will show the world that the UK is really serious about our defence, the defence of our overseas territories, and the defence of our allies.

The US should not give the UK nuclear weapons. Leaving aside the fact that this gift is a result of the magnanimity of the American tax payer the main problem is that it allows the UK to avoid having to provide for its own defense. So, it has become necessary for the US to to deploy the European Reassurance Initiative in order to defend the UK and the rest of the Eurotrash.

Instead the US should force the UK to do whatever is necessary to have a real capability to deploy to Eastern Europe. Better still the US should leave NATO.

“The US should not give the UK nuclear weapons.”

They will because Britain scrapped Blue Streak and other projects so that the US would have the monopoly. We developed nuclear weapons on our own originally and would be more than capable of doing so if the US did not supply them.

“allows the UK to avoid having to provide for its own defense”

We spend plenty on defence thank you very much, not enough, but we do provide. And we spend enough to defend the Falklands from Argentina's colonial ambitions too....

Good luck to Argentina with it's Tucano fighters-we use Tucanos as trainers.

As a result the US has had to increase its “European reassurance initiative” spending four fold. That's the problem.

The fact is that since 1914 the UK has had only one defense strategy - the US. That strategy does not serve the US national interest. And the American voter is tired of supplying defense for the UK and getting nothing in return. Irrespective of who wins in Congress and the White House in November you Brits are in for a shock.

    USA provides +/- 70% of NATO's money.
    That has to end.
EU UK need to step up and provide for their own defence.
The USA citizenry is tired of their whining and the USA getting nothing but backtalk from both of them.
