An earlier saying occurs in Virgil's Aeneid: ”facilis descensus Averno (the descent to hell is easy)”.
How very fucking apt.
I am amazed they have managed 47%, must mostly be locals who still have money.

IT IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.
Brazilian Government Policies over years have contributed to this sorry state, time to pay the price and be remembered as the worst Olympics in modern history for poor organisation.
At least the beer should still be served cold.

After all, if instead of cold beer, you are accustomed to drinking cold horse piss, you should enjoy it.

Mar 05th, 2016 - 07:43 pm - Link - Report abuse 0as the biggest failed Olympics recorded,
you may well be correct.
With the way the Olympics are going, the may travel the path of the world's fair if the keep handing it out to incompetent and impoverished nations just to screw it up.
Mar 05th, 2016 - 08:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Months away and not even half the tickets are sold.
They will probably fix the events to give the improvised nations chance.
Mar 05th, 2016 - 08:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What a waste..
You can be sure that the State of Rio, along with the Federal government will spend whatever they think they have to in order to try make the Games a success - doesn't mean they will be - even if it means defunding essential activities, far more important to the population, and despite the fact they are technically broke..... salaries of public servants are months behind, trying to be attended in public hospitals or emergency rooms has become a hopeless endeavour . People are dying on the floors of the corridors before they can get medical attention......and fat Dilma sustains that Brazil's public health system is comparable to the best in the world......that is because she, the 9-fingered toad and their cronies, all have the best private health plans in the top hospitals while the general population takes months to even mark an appointment with one of the so-called 'doctors' brought over from Cuba (Programa Mais Médicos, a gimmick to get money out of the country by the PT) ), whom in reality are no more than glorified nurses.
Mar 06th, 2016 - 06:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The unsold tickets is a minor problem in comparison to the capital which went down the drain on the overpriced, incomplete and abandoned structures - most of which will never be completed and neither will be used after the international events.
