Indonesian authorities on Monday bombed the last major ship internationally wanted for years of illegally taking toothfish from southern waters, reiterating a strong message to would-be poachers who enter the country's waters. Read full article
'The Viking’s Captain, Huan Venesa of Chile, and its crew of 10 from Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and Peru, remain in detention in Indonesia.'......
You and Voice having a rough few days...
Just a little bit of advice, 2016 comes after 2015.
Wow...no wonder Roger has you running in circles, you make it too easy....
Still easy to lure and brainwashed about all things South Atlantic, i see...
Blindly elieving and following the lead of MercoPress's prime Anglo Troll Turnips as usual...
For your info, the link you provide at (3) is the first one I read...
Then I reached the Captain's name...: Huan Vanesa of Chile...
HUAN VANESA??? That sounds as Chilean as Sri Anandamurti, I said to meself...
They all happen to be Europeans... Your neighbours to the Northeast and they have most of their pirate firms and ill gotten monies registered*** & invested in Brutish Tax havens round the World...
*** One interesting development of this story is that one of them Spanish Fish Pirate's ghost firms registered in Uruguay has business contacts” with a couple of Malvinas Fishing Companies...
As you say...:
No wonder that Thinking persons like Mr. Voice and meself have you brainwashed Anglo Turnips running in circles..., you make it too easy....
My first comment was correct, if you review the original sources in Indonesia where the arrest took place. The crew data is also available in English, where the chileno captain is named and the presence of argentine crew is confirmed:
The ship’s Captain, Huan Venesa of Chile, and its crew of 10 from Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and Peru, have also been detained.
From Indonesian media:
MV Viking is captained by Huan Venesa, a Chilean, and has 11 crew members, six of whom are Indonesian nationals, with the remaining from Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and two from Peru. The captain does not have a sailing license.
The presence of the chilean captain and argentine and other crew crew are also mentioned in the EFE wire service report. The initial AP report only confirmed the chileno nationality of the captain and not the rest of the crew.
And of course the mendacious Tinkle quoted an early Sea Shepherd report that was later corrected, while the early report had not confirmed the presence of the argentine crew. But in the later report....
The Viking’s Captain, Huan Venesa of Chile, and its crew of 10 from Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and Peru, remain in detention in Indonesia.
When Argentina needs its Goebbels, it need only look to Tinkle.
Thinking persons like Mr. Voice and meself ... Clearly, his Thinking is limited to researching to the point of finding something that appears to support his argument and then stopping (and proclaiming his knowledge to the Turnips of the world). Going that all-important extra step of checking the quality of his sources is evidently beyond him. He could, of course, either admit this or provide a reasonable explanation (maybe the corrected story wasn't available when he pounced?-but the dates and times of messages and stories could prove or disprove that) and apologise for the hasty insults but I expect it will be either more name-calling or silence. We shall see...
Ah, Think, you never learn.

Shot down again, Think.
Voices Poodle @16.... So some confusion over the nationality of the Captain, but you chose to insult most people on this site because one poster happened to have quoted factually from a news source that differs from the 1 source you found. And you wonder why you are derided.
Firstly, the 1 source I found as you call it..., happens to be the Official News Agency of Indonesia, the Country where the arrest happened...
That official News Agency quotes in an article dated yesterday, the Indonesian arresting officer stating that the master of the fishing ship is from Myanmar...
That is, as far as I'm concerned the closest one can come at the moment to the truth via Internet in this specific story....
Secondly... I wonder why I am derided..., you say?
Nope, I don't...
I know perfectly why you, haughty colonial-minded brainwashed Anglo Turnips in here try to deride me...
Because I, an average Argentinean citizen, have the unbearable chutzpah to oppose the Brutish appropriation of some 12 million square kilometers of South Atlantic and Anctartic Territory..., thats why...
Thirdly...,,this article is about 1 t (one) fishing pirate ship...
As we speak..., they are about 150 of them extracting yearly some 400,000 tons of biomass from Argentinean waters...
All that under Brutish Pirate licenses...
I think you mean Falklands and dependencies EEZ. They are clearly not yours.
There you go again, making false accusations and insulting people while trying to steal someone else's land. When did you claim SG and the SSI, remind us of that claim date again....No you don't get why you are derided, plainly.

I can assure my hermanitos shilenos that the captain of the Lu Yan Yuan Yu 010, the chinese poaching fishing ship sunk today by the Argentinean Coast Guard in front of the Chubutean coast is NOT Chilean...
Think - there is no historical evidence to support your claim of Brutish appropriation of some 12 million square kilometers of South Atlantic and Anctartic Territory.
Had there been any positive evidence then by now, surely, your claims would have been presented to the International Court of Justice. Fairy tales, myths and lies!
@10 The data covering the name of the chileno captain and crew composition were available through open media as of 26 February.

While that is probably a perfectly reasonable assumption, you have not provided any evidence to prove this. So, it is not impossible that you are incorrect. You have made a statement of great certainty that is only based on probability - a risky approach. Your track record of checking your facts is not good...
