“ The ship’s Captain, Huan Venesa of Chile, and its crew of 10 from Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and Peru, have also been detained.”
From Indonesian media:
“ MV Viking is captained by Huan Venesa, a Chilean, and has 11 crew members, six of whom are Indonesian nationals, with the remaining from Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and two from Peru. The captain does not have a sailing license.”
The presence of the chilean captain and argentine and other crew crew are also mentioned in the EFE wire service report. The initial AP report only confirmed the chileno nationality of the captain and not the rest of the crew.
And of course the mendacious Tinkle quoted an early Sea Shepherd report that was later corrected, while the early report had not confirmed the presence of the argentine crew. But in the later report....
“ The Viking’s Captain, Huan Venesa of Chile, and its crew of 10 from Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Myanmar and Peru, remain in detention in Indonesia.”
When Argentina needs its Goebbels, it need only look to Tinkle.

“Thinking persons like Mr. Voice and meself ...” Clearly, his Thinking is limited to researching to the point of finding something that appears to support his argument and then stopping (and proclaiming his “knowledge” to the “Turnips” of the world). Going that all-important extra step of checking the quality of his sources is evidently beyond him. He could, of course, either admit this or provide a reasonable explanation (maybe the corrected story wasn't available when he pounced?-but the dates and times of messages and stories could prove or disprove that) and apologise for the hasty insults but I expect it will be either more name-calling or silence. We shall see...
