Members of the Commission are: Argentina itself (nice to be able to vote on your own claims!), undemocratic Islamist thugocracies Pakistan and Malaysia; failed state Nigeria; Latin American hermanos Mexico and Brazil; 'reparations'-obsessed India; disgruntled ex-colonies Trinidad & Tobago, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique and Ghana; fascist totalitarian superpowers Russia and China; xenophobic Poland (with an axe to grind against Britain over migration and the EU); and a minority rump of responsible democracies (Canada, Denmark, Croatia, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Japan).

No actual link anywhere to the commission's report, or any indication of whether it was a divided vote or not. Odd that a decision made months ago should only be announced this week -- and the UN commission's website is years out of date.

UN Press Release 28 March =

At the plenary level, the Commission adopted, without a vote, two sets of recommendations, namely the recommendations in respect to the submission made by Argentina, and the recommendations in respect to the submission made by Iceland in respect of the Ægir Basin area and in the western and southern parts of Reykjanes Ridge. With regard to the recommendations in respect of the submission made by Argentina, it is recalled that, previously, the Commission had already decided that it was not in a position to consider and qualify those parts of the submission that were subject to dispute and those parts that were related to the continental shelf appurtenant to Antarctica (see CLCS/64, paras. 76 and 77 and CLCS/76 para. 57)

Now there are potentials for mini-confrontations in the shape of incidents involving vessels of different kinds; something for practical actions.

Come to terms with reality. You cannot ignore there is an unresolved dispute and UK must comply with UN mandate. 50 years after UNGA resolution 2065, sovereignty dispute remains as pending as ever. UN Committee has expressly supported Argentina's claim. There is a dispute, over sovereignty, bilateral, to be solved by its only two parties, Argentina and UK. Period

You clearly have never read res 2065.

But once again as you are bound to raise wishes vs interests-what in Argentina's opinion are the interests of the Falkland Islanders?

Any Islanders are free to reject this (as I am English). It would appear to be in the Interests of the Islanders to continue forming their own government. (i.e. self determination is in the interests of the Islanders).

Therefore that would be taking into account the Interests of the population (that is the human one, unless 2065 referred to the plant or animal populations).

Alejo. do Argentina think it is against the Islanders interests to exercise self determination?

The conclusion of the UN, voted by several democracies such as Brazil, Poland Canada, Denmark, Croatia, Republic of Korea, Netherlands and Japan, is quite clear.

It is neither a matter of british people nor islanders since it is applicalbe only to areas “not under dispute”. So, why on the hell are you complaining about?

Let's asume that the UK were able to extend your “influence area” granted by the UN in the North Atlantic..would you think it is a matter of Argentina? I would say NO. So, this UN recognition is not a UK or Islander business. So, I don't want to be rude but, put your nose in your business !!!

In addition, I have my own point of view about FI people. To the contrary to some argentine people I believe they are not pirats at all. They are honest and honorable people making their lives. Ths “interests” refer to their rights and desires. The sovereignty over the FI territory is something that should be negotiaed and solved between Argentina and the UK granting the rights ansd way of life of the FI people.

Let the poor small minded argies have their imagined win, nobody across the world of any consequence is interested given the utter lack of column inches in international publications.

Will it make any difference to the Falklands other than to further reinforce the number of numbnuts still pervading the argie governments seem not to be reducing despite Macri and his protestations to the opposite? No is the answer to that.

I just love the first photo of the three wops representing Argentina.

No doubt the children of Uruguay who 'rule' us will be praising this for all they are worth, stupid, uneducated twats that they are.

,Spain threatens to drive Gibraltar to COLLAPSE with border shutdown threat
BELLIGERENT Spain has threatened to SHUT DOWN Gibraltar if Britain leaves the EU in a move that could see the overseas territory close to collapse

3, David is on holiday, and yet 30,000 brits sign a petition to keep him there.
His ministers of project fear, roll out the=NHS will collapse and our grandchildren will suffer if we leave, and the steel is abt to collapse, all his own parties doing, but we will get the blame if we leave
In the meantime thousands of British taxpayers money is given to projects for call girls in Belize and training for some from North Korea,[ the lion then, has been truly drugged.
    3,
David Cameron dismisses Argentina's claim to the waters surrounding the Falkland Islands
A United Nations commission has recommended that Argentina's maritime territory should be expanded across the South Atlantic Ocean, encompassing the Falkland Islands
A leaseholder with no ownership to the soil it sits on.

Said it once and will keep saying it,
Britain needs to get of its arse and do something, just sitting there and saying NO isn’t fooling anyone. It’s to bloody late later to say oopps, sorry,
The unmighty EU wants a trade deal with south America, now unless im a china man, the Falkland’s may well stand in the way of this, how or why , is for them to work out, but considering the overlords tell our government what to do, im not holding out much luck.

If Britain has so much influence and power, as David tells us all, then you need to see action, not words.
Just my humble opinion for all its worth.
