China's economy expanded 6.7% in the first quarter, in line with Beijing growth target
China's economy grew 6.7% in the first quarter of the year compared to the same time last year, announced the government. It is the slowest quarterly growth in the Chinese economy in seven years, but in line with expectations and China's own growth targets. Read full article

And it isn't the first time that claiming a number only to have it met by 'the market' has happened.
They're very worried about civil unrest and are desperately trying ( without success) to slowly deflate te real estate bubble. Most think its 80% overvalued.

Agrees Chris. Many of their other indicators are quite reliable but wi it comes to growth, they are so wedded and addicted to the idea that this is prestigious.

Their entire population will start shrinking by about 2020. However Australia has done well out of China now for 20 years and we still have a trade surplus with Japan even though their boom ended in the early 90s so we'll eventually ride out any storm.
Guess India is next. Or Indonesia. We're primed for both.
Ugh nobody cares about Austrailia.

Who listens to Fred any longer. He rages across the entire site ranting and raving impotently just so someone will listen to him. Honestly he has started to sound like Nostrils in his attempts for attention. After looking through his Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media, I feel so sorry for the guy that I just ignore him. He rearranges couches to sell houses for Christ's sake. At 50, his past health choices are really showing and together with hiding who is really is and let's face it, mediocre talent that hasn't exactly set the corporate world on fire, he is just waiting for his retirement when he can finally enjoy all the fruits of his efforts.

He once tried to step outside his comfort zone and was slapped down so harshly in Argentina that it has probably given him PTSD.
So yeah Fred, no one cares about Australia or Uruguay.... big deal. Unlike you we don't require constant reinforcement or validation for our countries to bolster our own pathetic lives. We'll leave that up to you.

However, I prefer to live in a country that has a strong welfare and social system. It is why Australia has much lower levels of poverty and inequity than the US and why we have a much higher standard of living and much, much, much lower levels of crime.
We pay for that and benefit from that. So yes, I am extremely proud of what my country has to offer me. If I can take back when I need to then that is what the system is made to do. Don't get jealous because your country doesn't offer the same protection.
Anyway, who said I won't reproduce? I definitely plan on having children.
Don't project your life failures onto me Fred.
