The Falkland Islands elected government has announced details of the parade to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen to be held at Stanley's Victory Green on Thursday 21st April 2016. The parade will form up at Victory Green at 10.20 hours and His Excellency the Governor will arrive at 10.30 hours.

The Parade will proceed along the usual lines, and will be followed by a march past at which His Excellency the Governor will take the Royal Salute.

Gilbert House added that taking part in the parade will be contingents of the Royal Navy, the Army, the Royal Air Force, the Falkland Islands Defence Force supported by the Royal Marines Band Collingwood and members of youth organisations.

Also in attendance will be representatives of the Legislative Assembly and the Falkland Islands Government. There will be a fly-past at approximately 10.45 hours.

This is an important occasion and gives members of the public the opportunity to demonstrate their loyalty to the Crown and pay their respects to Her Majesty, whose presence is symbolised by the flying of the Royal Standard during part of the ceremony.

Members of the public attending the parade are invited to observe it from points on Victory Green and should be in position by 10.15 hours. The particular areas will be indicated by the Police Officers on duty.

It is appropriate for medals and decorations to be worn on this occasion.

    90 years old!

Amazing the amount of work she still does and will more than likely for at least another 10 years when she will become one of the world's longest reigning monarchs in history.

Here's a health unto Her Majesty,
With a fa la la la la la la,
    Confusion to her enemies,
With a fa la la la la la la.
And he who would not drink her health,
We wish him neither wit nor wealth,
Nor yet a rope to hang himself.
With a fal lal la la la la la la la la,
With a fal lal la la la la la.
