It is to be hoped that argieland is at least 50 years away from providing the occupant of such important posts. If argieland were to provide the Secretary General of the United Nations, it would signal a new low in the worth and respect for the UN.

Let's take a look at some of argieland's activities. The obvious start point is the Falkland Islands. Not just the invasion, occupation and war, but actions since. It must be remembered that UN members sign up to a Charter agreeing that they will treat non-self governing territories in the same way as they would treat their own metropolitan areas. Does argieland comply with that? In fact, it's interesting to work one's way through the UN Charter and work out which Articles argieland breaches. Next, we can consider argieland's actions in respect of one of its closest neighbours, Uruguay. There were the lies about river pollution, actually perpetrated by an argie town, that it tried to use to interfere with the construction and operation of pulp mills, the instance where argieland refused to buy back its own currency that visitors had exchanged for Uruguayan currency, the unjustified sanctions against the port of Montevideo, the refusal to dredge the channels leading to Uruguay's up-river ports despite a treaty requirement and the blocking on international bridges. Then there's Paraguay. The most obvious example is the unjustified argie-inspired suspension of Paraguay from mercosur. Then there's the moving of a nuclear facility, without any discussion, close to the border. In the same vein as the Falklands, we can recall the argie intention to attack Chile.

One wonders why so many people reckon that the change of government, as yet unproven in respect of its international actions, justifies treating argieland as though it had achieved some form of national sainthood. Let's use the yardstick of when the “Malvinas Myth” is removed from the curriculum and the 20 years of it being rejected.

Ban Ki-Moon's office had to step in and release a statement clarifying Argentina's EEZ claims.

EEZ claims that someone had exaggerated.

    What the UN actually said,
''With regard to the recommendations in respect of the submission made by Argentina, it is recalled that, previously, the Commission had already decided that it was not in a position to consider and qualify those parts of the submission that were subject to dispute and those parts that were related to the continental shelf appurtenant to Antarctica ''(see CLCS/64, paras. 76 and 77 and CLCS/76 para. 57) And Paragraph 3 of UN Press Release from Ban Ki-Moon's office dated 28th March 2016:
