Venezuelan soldiers steal goats because no food is left in the barracks

The situation in Venezuela has become so bad that even soldiers are struggling to support themselves. Over the weekend, six members of the Venezuelan military were detained by local authorities for stealing goats, the Venezuelan newspaper El Nacional reported on Sunday. It said the soldiers confessed to stealing the goats and said they did it to feed themselves, since they had no food left in their barracks. Read full article

I was talking to a friend who is studying architecture and live sin Cuidad Guyana. He was recently robbed of his mobile phone and can't afford a new one as it is the same price as a car. He is waiting for family overseas to send him a new one.

It is such a shame, because Venezuela has the resources to be the richest country in the Americas.

The ability of a country to generate wealth is multi-faceted.

I said richest, not largest economy.

There are plenty of countries with a richer population than the US. The US is not the benchmark for everything as much as Americans think it is.
