Most Argentines believe the economic situation is bad or very bad, but are also convinced things are set to improve, according to the latest public opinion poll released which coincides with the first six month of president Mauricio Macri's government. However it must also be mentioned that negative tendencies are increasing while positive ones are declining compared to last 10 December. Read full article

Well we saw what a popular government did to the country. Being unpopular isn't the end of the world if it helps in the long run.

It's no a matter of popularity; rather, it's about employment;cost of living; access to education and much more related to day to day life that is deteriorating under Macri's relentless assault.
Similar programs were in the past applied by military dictatorships, but it's the first time someone tries to do that in democracy.
It doesn't appear as an easy task what Macri has ahead.

Indeed, not an easy task, but it looks like 50% think that Macri will make improvements. As he continues to introduce improvements and people start to see the benefits then, logically, that number should rise.

Meanwhile, people like you continue to deny that Macri has indeed introduced some improvements that should make people's lives easier and help the economy recover from the mess it has been left in...

“Apart from boosting spending for state universities by 500 million pesos, growing the economy by 0.8%, helping Siemens announce the intention to provide us with 6,000 jobs, releasing dollar clamp, starting the process of paying off our international debts which was a hole dug ever deeper for him by the previous administration's refusal to comply with their contractual obligations, stopping INDEC from lying about how bad we were doing and paying the pensioners, what did Macri ever do for us?”

You don't get it, do you? And you keep parroting Macri's mantra that the Argentines need to be worse off before things improve. (We have heard that song many times before).
I said previous plans to massively transfer wealth from the majority to a few chosen ones were applied under threat from tanks and assault rifles.
Macri does not have such luxury at his disposal, at least for now.
Hey, several government officials have even begun to tell people that the previous government “lied to the people” by making them believe they could live better, and that such thing “wasn't normal.”
The Argentines, on the other hand, aren't a bunch of idiots as Macri would like to believe.
And so it has begun the long process that will end up with the current president going down in flames amid an economy devastated by stagflation and submerged up to its ears in debt.

LOL I invite any Argentina to tell us why and how will the economy improve when all we done is gone back to living on credit like in the past, we all know Argentina in on the road to the corralito again and for this reason we all still supporters of CFK. unfortunately the media like mercopress can't hide the misery and poverty MM neoliberalism is bringing to latin america. http://www.eldestapeweb.com/elecciones-rio-cuarto-durisima-derrota-cambiemos-un-lugar-donde-macri-habia-sacado-el-70-n18021

First election since the presidential one was held in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, results in a fiasco for Cambiemos, with Peronist candidate Juan Manuel Llamosas getting over 46 per cent, while the Cambiemos candidate Eduardo Yuni got 33 per cent.
The result followed active campaigning by Macri himself, who recorded a promotional video showing many smiling faces and that of Macri and the Cambiemos candidate.
A surprising result also gave Pablo Carrizo, who was born into a middle-class family but later went to live in a villa miseria to try and improve things for the destitute got over 9 per cent of the vote with the Respeto MST party.
In the presidential eleccion of late 2015, Mauricio Macri had obtained 70 per cent of the popular vote.
Coincidentally, polls since the assumption of Macri as president show a constant image erosion of Macri's image as the country's economy continues to deteriorate.

I have never said that and I don't believe it. However, in this case I think a large part of the “getting worse” is actually a reality check re-setting as a result of the previous government's mismanagement. Getting rid of thousands of unproductive noqui positions is probably making them worse off but their positions were unsustainable anyway.

“I said previous plans to massively transfer wealth from the majority to a few chosen ones were applied under threat from tanks and assault rifles.”

CFK didn't need such threats to transfer huge amounts of wealth from the majority to her chosen ones did she. She did it by empty promises and some of you still believe them...

“Hey, several government officials have even begun to tell people that the previous government “lied to the people” by making them believe they could live better, and that such thing “wasn't normal.””

It certainly isn't normal if there is no wealth creation mechanism.

“The Argentines, on the other hand, aren't a bunch of idiots as Macri would like to believe.”

CFK's effective brainwashing of a large proportion of the population, such as yourself is evidence to the contrary, but I think at least 50% of the population understand the logic that you can't generate wealth by paying unproductive positions.

“And so it has begun the long process that will end up with... an economy devastated by stagflation and submerged up to its ears in debt.”

Pay attention, that started 12 years ago.
