Haha some countries can change leaders without people running around shouting COUP.

Stick to your dysfunctional republican system, Brasileiro.

No surrender! Betting and money la err financial services will continue unhindered and Spaniard usurpers will be ignored (along with various inconsequential SA nutjobs). Somewhere for our Aircraft Carriers to stock up and enjoy the sunshine.

    Agreed DemonTree

We've become almost experts at it in the last few years! LOL

Thankfully a Prime Minister is easier to dump than a president such as Maduro, Chavez, Dilma, Cristina or God forbid, Trump.

Compare the political “turmoil” between Britain and Brazil's change in leaders. Poor Brasileiro had no idea.

@2 Skip “Haha some countries can change leaders without people running around shouting COUP.”

Although, in fairness it seems that we/they can't try to change the leader of the opposition without the shouting and the running about...

As long as the Gibraltarian's wish to remain British,
    the British are going nowhere,

Spain will be very lucking to survive intact ,
    it may yet break up.

    Now now,
Spain has no legal claim whatsoever over Gibraltar,
Gibraltar is not Spanish, and never will be.

    I especially liked the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd double. :-)

To be fair to Brazil though, the new president is from a different party, has totally different policies, and is probably even more bent than the one they voted for. I'd be unhappy too.

Also I wonder if this the first time the prime minister has changed because the PM was angry with the people, rather than the other way around?

@12. In 1713, more than 100 years before Brazil “declared” independence and 113 years before that “independence” was recognised, Gibraltar was ceded to Britain IN PERPETUITY.

Do you understand “PERPETUITY”? It means “FOREVER”! If you can goad that tiny particle of matter that may constitute an incomplete brain cell into unaccustomed activity, can you see how curious it is that spain uses one part of a specific treaty to deny Gibraltar its rights and press its illegitimate claim, whilst denying another part of the same treaty? Especially as spain has already breached that treaty at least 14 times!

“It will take some time for our future relationship with the EU to become clear ”

    Why?

I do hope she isn't doing something behind 'the back' of the Brexiters. There are mixed messages coming out of No 10 at present.

And just how did this “recent private letter to Chief Minister Fabian Picardo” come into the public domain?

15-ChrisR - by time for EU relations to become clear she simply means what terms we will end up agreeing on re trade and price and freedom of movement levels etc,and freedom of financial movement. Currently all in the pot- UK wants more of some and less of others- EU probably wants it the other way around.- yet to be agreed on.
    Very early days yet.
Amuses me how so many currently shouting “look at UK economy 2 months on - just shows the brexit side was right and remain were wrong” - UM - Er - WE are still IN the EU folks- same as 3 months or 3yrs ago!
    Time will tell all.
