Freedom of speech is paramount for a free society.

Hopefully, this situation can be changed and the Maldives re-admitted to the Commonwealth.

I'm sure you weren't trying to say something derogatory, right?

Anyway, back in the real world, the Maldives are an independent country and Boris can't do anything to or for them.

“Maldives has been a cause of concern for many human rights organizations and the international community.”

Which is the same reason Argieland would never be allowed to join the Commonwealth.

My friend Mr Nissman will testify… .

Blame Brexit; Everyone else has done for any problem that has cropped up since June this year.

    Blame Brexit,
Why not, but its not true is it,

hopefully the Maldives will get it together and re-join at a later date.

I love how Lord Duncan even presumes Argieland would be most remotely interested in joining an organization that is a direct vestige of Colonialism. The hubris...

As for the Maldives, why should they not regain full independence of their affairs? I've heard this one before, I sure hope there is no HYPOCRISY involved.

    hahahaha.

Capi, The Maldives already had full independence in their own affairs. The only thing the Commonwealth can do is suspend them. Member states have no legal obligations to one another, it's not remotely similar to the EU.

I'm sure you're right that Argentina would never be interested in joining, but I don't think it would have a problem with the democracy requirements if it did want to. More likely the fact it has no particular connections with any other member would be a problem.

Nostril/Brarsehole, Argentina would luuuuv to join the British Commonwealth. It would give Argentina some credibility and something to be proud of. As it is its claim to fame is its closeness to Spain, the country that had everything and lost the lot (much of it stolen by El Drako etc). A bit like bad breath…

But Argieland, as Nostrils calls his supposed country, is the top Colonialist on the South American Continent!

It tried to steal the Falkland Islands, bits of Chile, parts of Bolivia, Uruguay and Brazil as well as Patagonia which is really British territory. And then of course, after it acquired a ship that floated it tried to steal Antarctica. Disputes all round. Universally despised by one and all

Perhaps if it joined the British Commonwealth 'Argieland' might pick up a few tips on how to be a successful Colonialist?

Argieland would not be remotely interested in joining an organization that is a direct vestige of Colonialism

Does that mean that Argentina will not trade with its self,
being a direct vestige of Colonialism
    Herself like....

    Mr Nostrils (eww... yuck!)

More to the point, would “Argieland” ever be admitted if they applied?

Perhaps a 'Commonwealth' of former SA colonies???

Oh, right, you and Venezuela have Mercosur.

“As for the Maldives, why should they not regain full independence of their affairs?”

Aaaah they are fully independent, you idiot.

Jeez Nostrils, you were obviously dumb before the Argentinean education system made you even dumber!
