Argentina and Qatar agreed to create a billion-dollar joint fund to carry out infrastructure works, as part of Vice President Gabriela Michetti's visit to Middle Eastern countries, it was announced Monday.
During her visit, Michetti signed with the Qatari Minister of Economy, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, a bilateral promotion and protection agreement to give investors in both countries guarantees of transparency, predictability and security that they will not suffer arbitrariness, discrimination or expropriation.
Two separate agreements were also signed with Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which grant exemtions from double taxation in commercial transactions with Argentina to binational companies, multinationals and private investors.
