Argentina completed an improbable comeback to claim its first Davis Cup title, storming back from the brink of elimination to defeat Croatia on Sunday. Argentina was one set from defeat in the fourth rubber, with Marin Cilic leading Juan Martin del Potro two sets to love, and they would mount a historic rally to lift the trophy. Del Potro turned in his first career two-set comeback 6-7(4), 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-3, followed by a clutch 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win for Federico Delbonis over Ivo Karlovic. Read full article

The Davis Cup doesn't have the allure it once did, but it's still a feather in the cap for any country that wins it, especially if it's their first, so well done Argentina, and particularly Del Petro, who has a lot of heart and a lot of class.

I remember the British last year coming here in masse to troll the argies about the Davis Cup, yet all of us argies here have known this news for more than 12 hours now, and yet not one has posted and trolled the Brits here about it in the other topics, we just keep debating as nothing happened.

I remember in the World Cup when Argentina reached the final I made NOT ONE SOLITARY GLOATING even after we advanced stage after stage, when Argentina lost (in extra time), oh look at all the trolls waiting.

That is the difference between the Argentine and the foreigner. The Argentine says nothing in victory, the foreigner revels in our defeats.

No comparison between the class of the two.

No comparison between the class of the two.

    You are so right !!!!

    Your inferiority is beyond measure.

However, well done to the Argentine team. How is the rugby coming along ?

If I may be allowed a small gloat, a tiny little country has top seeds in singles and doubles tennis.

Only a Brit could take my post demonstrating beyond doubts the inferiorities of the FOREIGNER, and say it is me who is the inferior.

As for Rugby, our results were not much different than South Africa and Australia at the Rugby Championship, all of them performed miserably none managed to win more games than lost, all had at least -30 points (SA -58, AR -87), and had the difference between 2nd and 4th is only 8 points by 17 between 2nd and 1st.

And still gone twice as far as Scotland has ever done, can't be 3rd in the world cup when you can't get out of the 8s.

Castrol GTX, I think Clyde was talking about the Autumn internationals....not 6 months or a year ago.

    2016 Autumn Series....
    Wales 24-20 Argentina
    Scotland 19-16 Argentina
    England 27-14 Argentina

Argentina couldn't get to 3rd in the World cup either, so not sure your point. Both countries drew Australia in the knockout stages, both lost, Scotland by 1 point and Argentina by 14.

But Argentina have shown they are a great side if they put their minds to it, but they seem to fall away in the last 20 mins.

Rugby was very good. Argentina couldn't take advantage of having an extra man for most of the match. In the end overpowered by a very impressive England team.
    Hate tennis .....girl's game.
