The Russian Helicopters holding came out the winning bidder on supply of spare parts for Mi-8/17 helicopters of Peru’s Air Force and will start deliveries next year, Executive Director of the company Grigoriy Kozlov said on Friday. Disclaimer & comment rulesI remember a visit to Perú in the 1970s. There was so much Russian military equipment and personnel that it seemed like a Soviet client state. I went into a restaurant in the north of the country and quickly realised that what was being spoken in the adjacent table wasn't Spanish, but Russian. During the 1980s I think the US got their first Russian MI-24 helicopter to assess via a sneaky deal with Perú.
