Looks like even with the global and regional economic downturn, Chile managed 1.5% growth for this year, and less than 3% inflation, versus Argentina's no-end-in-sight recession and 40 percent annualised inflation. Of course, there's that diabolical neoliberal factor and oh-gawd-they-import-stuff in Chile that reekie can't bear.

In an economic powerhouse - the USA - the economy struggled to expand to 3.5% - much, MUCH lesser than China, India? Isn't THAT quite a miserable performance?

Also, expand is the opposite of decay which of course is what is happening in Argentina, which is now showing a per-capita GNP somewhat lower than that of Lithuania and Uruguay.
Here is another note on your silly notions of miserable performance - the per-capita GNP of the US is more than 4 times that of Argenzuela. The per-capita GNP of the UK is about 3.5 times that of Argenzuela.
