A 7.6/7.7 degrees earthquake affected five regions in southern Chile on Sunday but left no fatal casualties. “There is no loss of human life,” National Emergency Management Office (ONEMI) Director Ricardo Toro said. Read full article

    I was in contact with friends from Chile exchanging Christmas greetings and none felt the earthquake.

    Same here. Friends in X Región, less than 200 km from the epicenter, said “what earthquake?”

    It was felt in Bolivia ... oooops... that was the Christmas day Atacama quake. :) http://earthquaketrack.com/p/chile/recent ... and they call Unzud the Shaky Isles.

    People around Montt and Ancud, etc are still a bit gunshy when it come to quakes and tsunamis but it must have been a quiet news day considering the coverage this one got.
