    @voicey: “Try investing in education...”

    The US education systems are controlled by supporters of the democrat party. That is one of the reasons their voters didn't want another democrat president.

    ML, I might be wrong but I think what V is saying is that the election of Donald Trump is evidence of lousy education in America.

    You see, if education doesn't support and promote leftist thinking and leftist candidates, it isn't education. Additionally, that non-leftist thinking is automatically racism. No need for critical thinking on that one.

    The above is a good example of leftist “educated” thinking and tolerance.

    It isn't an example of indoctrination and intolerance at all!

    Briton REF: They will have one helluva wall to climb...?

    Not necessarily!

    Keeping strictly to the cultural heritage & tradition, the border is made porous with innumerable tunnels which are well guarded - protected - by the officials on both the sides.

    They ensure [give 100% guarantee] of smooth trafficking of drugs, arms, cash, crooks, immigrants, etc, etc.

    This is besides the well-established Old Sea & Air Routes for the same purposes for ages.

    So it's “Business As Usual” - FOR GENERATIONS!

    Trump has already walked back to building of the wall and the Mexicans paying for it. Though I am sure he will call it an alternative fact not a lie.

    How many scared old white men bought into his alternative facts?

    What is amazing about the election of Trump is that the negative aspects of the Obama+Clinton conditions sufficiently energised such an enormous number of people in that country to vote for an alternative like The Donald. To be beaten by Trump you have to have an enormously unpopular offering.

    We don't (or didn't) see “How many scared old white men” in the Romney numbers a few years ago but the voting profiles were very much the same then as for the Trump election. According to the Pew numbers, Trump appears to have been more popular with Latinos and Blacks than they were with Romney. And despite what the pussy-hat crowd would have us believe, women voters went pretty much with Trump as they had done with Romney, with 42 percent of women voters for Trump and 44 percent for Romney in 2012 (and 43 percent for McCain in 2008). And Trump actually outperformed Clinton among white college graduates.

    But don't let that get in the way of your being unsatisfied with the outcome.

    What on earth will all the American “ladies who lunch” do if Trump's plans to cut immigration from Mexico come to fruition? What will they do for their maids, child care, gardeners and drivers?

    Gordito, my guess is that the next wave of workers in those categories will be blond and familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet.

    @ML
    Or Clinton was less popular with Latinos and Blacks than Obama, which is perfectly plausible. If she had got the number of votes Obama did in crucial states, she'd have won. But voters stayed home instead of voting for her.

    Obama had a high approval rating right to the end, 60% vs 40% for Trump, so it seems a tad unfair to blame him for Clinton's defeat.

    But I dunno what the demographics have to do with being satisfied with the outcome. You appear to be pretty satisfied, which is worrying enough since you take such joy in bad news...

    @gordo1
    The much bigger question is where will the cost-cutting businessmen get their cheap labour from? The fact the rich elite supporters of both parties may have trouble getting personal servants is surely secondary.
