    At its worst you mean. Division and hatred, propaganda and misinformation; it feels like we are back in the 30s.

    No Briton. It's not Merkel who is blaming her country's problems on immigrants and members of a despised religion. She is not the one saying that the normal government is corrupt and ineffective and only she can fix things, and she is not claiming her country has been injured by others and promising to make it great again.

    Merkel has shown that she is very opposed to the policies of the 30s by letting in all the refugees. You may think it was a mistake, but it's a very different kind of mistake from banning then.

    so do you think Merkel was right in letting over a million into Germany.

    I think it was a mistake and will turn into a disaster,
    just my opinion

    @Briton
    No, I think it was a mistake too.

    Taking refugees is not bad in itself, but she should have brought them straight from the camps near Syria. That way they could make sure the people they were taking really were refugees, they could have brought families instead of lots of single men, and it wouldn't have caused all the trouble for the countries in between. Also they could limit the number to something they could actually deal with.

    I don't think she realised just how many would come and what trouble it would cause. Now she knows better, but still has to deal with the problems she's created.

    What scares me are the people who want to destroy everything we've built because they think it's not working very well. People are good at tearing things down, but they are very bad at building something better afterwards.
