    Well...

I would tell PM Rajoy the same as the EU told PM May...

“We don't need no ”bridge“ to Mr. Trump... We have Twitter...”

“According to Rajoy's office, the Prime Minister told Trump that Spain was in the best situation to be an interlocutor for the US in Europe”

Also happens to be second from last in the contributions to NATO...so not exactly in the best situation to be an interlocutor for the US in Europe...
Also how condescending to claim to act as a link with Latin American countries...which Latin American countries have approved this...?

@Voice he was offering Trump to help him against Latin American nations. He wasn't offering Latin American nations to help against Trump. What an opportunist!

They would both be far better offering the opposite. Europe needs to be as united as possible and the EU should get that army set up ASAP. Both Trump and Putin would love to divide and weaken Europe.

“with Trump emphasizing on the importance of all NATO allies sharing the burden of defense spending.”

    Including Spain sharing the burden?

So that'll be a couple of Typhoons coming into service then.

“Rajoy said he was confident of a strong EU integration in the coming months ”

Maybe, but we'll see what happens in the German French and Dutch elections.

Maybe Spain will be able to match the financial contribution the UK has shovelled into the EU, to ensure 'its integration'. This British wine is good, *hic*

Spain has long wanted to be a tier one ally of the USA (like UK, Israel, and Japan). But they lack the qualifications: Is not a technological and economical powerhouse, there isn't a pro-Spanish community in USA lobbying on their behalf, they can't pledge all-weather military support. If the Spaniards like Trump so much they are welcome to swap places: You get NAFTA and we get the EU. Lets see how that works for you.
