Wittenberg is the German city where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door 500 years ago and launched the Protestant Reformation. Among much banality, three sentences are the real crux of the issue of automation versus employment.

“We’re not going to stop the automation, so we will have to redistribute the remaining work.”

Of course. In the 1950s and 1960s, predictions were that automation was going to allow humans to work less and spend more time in leisure, volunteering, creating or doing what really motivates each individual.

Sixty years later, robots and computerization have gone much farther than even the more audacious predicted. And what really ended up happening? The resulting benefits are being channeled to fewer and fewer hands, while most face an uncertain future.

Greed is preventing the common sense action of “putting real money into the pockets of those who have no work” and also sharing the available work among all workers--even if that means working half a day or half a week for a living wage.

Of course, this won't be done, hence the risk of ”the political radicalization that comes with (increased inequality)“

Which leads us to the inevitable: ”the whole capitalist business model will collapse.” (and replaced by a more rational economic model).

But don't tell that to some MP readers. They may collapse in anguish and existential agony.

Enrique Inodoro, when did you last stay in Argentina for three months or more in a row?

You blabber on, although your knowledge of the country is nill, as you get all your fake news from Kirchnerista sources (less than 5 percent poor in Argentina; better than Germany; inflation at 10.6 percent; and similar rubbish). Try for once to behave like a human being and listen to those of us who live in Argentina - even better, come and live among us.
