Grenfell Tower death toll feared around 70
The latest news from the West London Grenfell Tower fire site list 58 people missing and presumed to be dead, London police Commander Stuart Cundy said on Saturday. He also explained that the figure was based on reports from the public and feared it might go up. “This number 58 may change. I really hope it won't, but it may increase,” he said. This 58 include the 30 already confirmed dead, according to Cundy. Analysts estimate the death toll can reach 70. Read full article

Well, talk about a profound belief in a dictatorship on their part... Of course when the polls and votes went their way a year ago, they claimed a huge mandate and called any objections treacherous. Now they lost that mandate in the most ignominious way in front of the whole world, and now sign the tune that “mandates or public opinion don't matter, leaders must rule through by conviction” (e.g., ignore it all).
What a perniciously dangerous bunch those currently in power. At this point, I think people should just putsch them, as they only seem to respond to that kind of policy.

Though what may end up happening is the cons will anyway because Brexit is a one or gone thing. They will probably destroy their party for a couple of generations as a result but I think they see it as a calculated cost benefit.

Just bad genes. I'm sure your feet are not small either, specially if you travel so much in Latin America or Asia as you claim, you will be a big foot woman in many of those places. But May does it and they say nothing. I remember when the train crashed at the station a few few years ago in Buenos Aires, they immediately blamed her for the incident for various reasons from import restrictions to insufficient maintenance of the rails... and that killed “only” 48.

Elaine then said she had large feet, or at least that Europeans had larger feet, which I would not doubt, but then again these comments were 5 years ago and have never talked about this subject again until now.

And before you get all sanctimonious I tried hard in the early days to get him to have a more positive outlook on life, to go out and make friends with real people and to use his intelligence to build a future for himself instead of nurturing his hatred of the U.K. which seems to be his only focus.

He claims to live in Mendoza but seems to have very little knowledge of the place or the economy there. That doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't live there because he has told us candidly he is 'poor and proud of it' so his perspective may be skewed by that. I have been to Mendoza a number of times but he always seems to disappear offline when I am there. Not that I would have sought to meet up with him. I wouldn't seek to meet anyone from a message board as we all know there are some real creeps lurking online but it was a bit odd.
If we believe all he has told us about his life it is an incredible waste. In the early days he used to make some interesting contributions to debates. That has been replaced by ranting nonsense.

Oh, I think if a person lives at home and their mother pays the bills they have nothing but time to waste on the internet. He told us something about building his own computer - but that was in response to a debate where he claimed not to use anything not made in Argentina. It is difficult to tell when he is lying to cover some grandiose statement or not.
Languages - well we don't know about that do we. I like to think he has an aptitude he has failed to use to his advantage but google translate is pretty good.
As I said, he could just be another of the many personas that knock around this site.
Hmm, I suppose we really only know how well he can speak English. I don't believe I have seem him write anything in another language, but google translate is not good enough to let someone do that convincingly.
