The old round pound is on the way out, slowly being replaced by the new 12-sided coin, brought in by the Royal Mint in attempt to thwart forgers. Both pound coins are currently in circulation, but soon the old pound coin will lose its status as legal tender and will be worth no more than the metal it's printed on. Read full article

    Geeeeeeeeeeeeee....

As sweet Hepatia uses to ask...

What is this piece of “News” doing in a South Atlantic News Agency...?

Next they will start informing us about some Jock shearer tackling more than 2.000 sheep in 50-hour endurance challenge...!

'Sweet Hepatia' lol. Don't you know she hates Eurotrash like me and you?

Actually I'm really not sure why this story is included, since I believe Islander1 said the Falklands pound isn't changing.

This is ancient history. The clever bit is that many parking meters cannot except the new coin.

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a British government propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?

    Kipper ?

I wondered what the rank smell was. As to your question, why don't you ask the Mercopress editorial board, they decide what to print, not the people on the forum.

So Hepatia is a UKipper now. Seems appropriate, she's certainly an irritating isolationist idiot.

There are often stories trying to flog 'commemorative', special edition coins in here. Maybe this one was picked up by accident?
