Aug 09th, 2017 - 12:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Refusing to cede control might well harm the union more than the reverse. I think it's important to let Scotland see benefits from Brexit as well as disadvantages, if we don't want another referendum sooner rather than later.

an extra £1,623 per head, or 19 per cent, is given to Scotland compared to England.
What's that got to do with the devolution of powers from Brussels.
Aug 09th, 2017 - 09:34 pm - Link - Report abuse +1The UK govt. devolved some powers to Scotland and Wales. With the Bill through Parliament to take back all powers granted to the EU, Scotland was told that they would get more devolved powers from this such as fishing farming and environmental matters.
The government appears to be reneging on this promise and instead saying they will decide the details...trust us ! For example, they are already saying that deals with EU member states may be made on fisheries without consulting Scotland, where most of the fisheries are.
Oh, and hey, the UK Gov now admiting Scotlands revenue to the UK is quite a bit more than was being published....Scotland contributes far, far more to the UK than it gets through the Barnet formula. (which is getting binned anyway due to Brexit)
