European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker has delivered a fresh rebuke to Theresa May over her Government’s handling of the Brexit process. He said official papers setting out the UK Government’s positions were not satisfactory and it was “crystal clear” that an “enormous amount” of issues needed to be settled before talks on a future trade deal could begin Read full article

The EU are frustrated by the attitude of the UK government ?

We are NOT surprised by a dictatorial approach from Junker and co.

An unelected beaurocratic old farty civil servant who is happy his system has remained unexamined financially for accuracy and honesty and democracy for decades!
Such a self opinionated old fart he cannot consider that anything he says can be less than 100% honest open and true!
Come on old fart - state in detail what you want to see on the Irish-UK Border for a start? I think the British suggestion is not bad. After all, a bugger of a long way for the Illegals to swim around Cornwall and across the Irish see to Cork!

If the British suggestion on NI has any details then they haven't been reported. Likewise, if Britain has put a number to the divorce settlement, it hasn't been reported. It doesn't benefit the EU to waste time, but it's worse for us. If they can't get to some agreement quickly then we will have worse choices to make later.

Unfortunately we still have to deal with the EU even if they are dictatorial, our government needs to face that fact and get on with it.

I can't make head nor tail of this,
Negotiations are being held up because - allegedly- the UK is looking at the legal aspect of paying a divorce bill on leaving. I have not heard how this bill has been calculated or the amount demanded. In addition, the ICJ has to play a part in the UK's legal decisions.
What's in it for us....that they refuse to say.
So, we could give them a blank cheque and in return, we could be given a dud deal ?

Does not seem a good move from our point of view.

To my way of thinking, we pay all our dues to the point of leaving. There may be other payments due for commitments we gave...whatever they were. However do they really think that we should include payments to regional funds or other projects to benefit the EU when we will have no advantage except a warm glow of altruism.

I think and strongly believe that Junker and co. should listen to business leaders in the whole of the EU as they are the ones who will suffer if his dictatorial approach gains favour.

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a British government propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?
