Brazil's former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will learn in January whether a prison sentence against him is upheld, officials said, potentially knocking him out of next year's presidential election. Lula was sentenced in July to 9.5 years behind bars after being convicted of corruption in Brazil's huge “Car Wash” graft scandal. Read full article

I've said this many times before, and will say it again...all you need to do is to see the hundreds of thousands who go to the stadiums on weekends to watch soccer games - and many times paying through the nose for it , the millions attracted to Carnival, or even the “Parada Gay”, but when it comes down to protesting because of the corrupt politicians,
very few people are interested....which, IMO, proves that the majority of the population is either too stupid to realize they are being robbed, or as they say here, “like to be robbed”.
When priorities are inverted, shit happens !

The population idolizes The Cup, Carnival, Parada Gay [I heard that they are even considering Gay-MMA!] and pay for the same through their noses; while letting the corrupt rob them in front of their groggy eyes!

So Lula is summoning his red army to occupy Porto Alegre (and other large cities) on the 24th, in order to pressure the 3 judges who'll decide his fate...he'll have to distribute cash and lots of sandwiches to his 'comrades'...
