This is gonna be interesting. After Mexico declared war on the drug gangs in 2006, the murder rate shot up drastically. Now many areas are ruled by the cartels, the local press is too afraid to publish news of the daily death toll, and residents have to dodge turf wars on their way to work. 2018 was the most violent year since records began and drug addiction in the US has risen again. When will they admit that the drugs have won the war?
It's hard to imagine things in Brazil could get any worse, but unfortunately reality is not bound by our imaginations. :(
