Luxembourg reaping London's financial services triggered by Brexit

Brexit is driving a much heralded jobs boom and expansion in the financial services industry – in Luxembourg. According to lobby group Luxembourg for Finance, 47 banks, insurers, wealth managers and investment firms have plans to move some business activities to the Grand Duchy in order to cope with potential disruption from Britain’s impending departure from the European Union.     In Singapore 46% of the population is foreign born and financial services is one of biggest drivers of the economy. Is that really what you want to transform Britain into?

    Economically yes, life style no. I have an old friend, a Chinese Malay who lives there. Its a bit frenetic and soulless. We can do better than that. Restart our aviation industry too to replace froggy Airbus.

    I'm afraid the two go together, TV. A highly competitive culture is great for growing the economy but not so nice to live in. And Singapore would not have grown so fast if they did not allow high immigration.
