United States lobby groups for agriculture and pharmaceutical firms want UK standards changed to be closer to those of the US in a post-Brexit trade deal. The meat lobby wants the sale of growth hormone-fed beef, currently banned in the UK and EU, to be allowed in the UK. Read full article

    Remember when the Brexiters said we'd be able to make our own rules after leaving? What they meant was, we'd be forced to follow the US's rules and abandon all our customer protections and drug safety laws in order to trade with them.

    This is also the reason Trump is undermining May and pushing for a hard Brexit.
