The real business of governing Brazil starts this Friday for president Jair Messias Bolsonaro with the opening of the new congress through which his ambitious reform program must pass. The former army captain is currently absent from Brasilia will have to follow events from his hospital bed in São Paulo, where he is recovering from a third major operation following his stabbing at a campaign rally last year that almost cost him his life. Feb 01st, 2019 - 01:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And unlike the Lula case, there is irrefutable material evidence of corruption. But in Brazil everything happens in reverse. Brazil is not a serious country!

THAT, is the very basic requirement to be a successful politician! If you are not corrupt; nobody will accept you as a Serious Politician - when will you learn this lesson?
Brazzo, forgive me for saying 'Brasshole' suits you better. You are just one more brainwashed 'Lulista'. Did you hear that down south they are criando lula em cativeiro ?

Feb 06th, 2019 - 01:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0At the risk of getting labelled as Lullista; I assure you that Lulla is a saint as much as Bolso is.
The priority for the Pension Reform Program is supposed to be [publicly announced] to minimize the deficits [if I'm not mistaken] but [not publicly announced] could also be used to increase the Benefits+Privileges of the Lawmakers & of those close to them. Besides, they were so confident of Doing-It but now, it appears to be a BIG challenge!

Feb 06th, 2019 - 06:58 pm - Link - Report abuse -1Lulla is truly a Saint (to the 'petistas').....after all didn't he multiply his salary of R$ 30,000/month into R$ 300 million ? and no one, absolutely no one, has a rational explanation for it ? santo de pé de barro.
All saints say tenha fé....isn't that what João de Deus told each of his victims as he raped them ? and he doesn't even acknowledge his own miracles....just like Lulla.

Feb 06th, 2019 - 09:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0To the outsiders, including the media [not all THAT saintly either]; there are big differences [+bitter enmity] amongst different Political Parties PLUS the Politicians.
But behind the backs of the outsiders; they all belong to the same club - the same brotherhood of thieves.
Of course just a few of them - for the namesake at least - are comfortably behind bars. If they aren't comfortable at all; they'd have squealed a long time ago, to pinpoint who stole, how much, how & when.
Their Total Silence proves the existence of a brotherhood; as it was clearly visible during the recent voting when the extra votes were slipped-in but nobody minded as if it was perfectly normal. Not even a slightest attempt was made to discover who was the culprit or who made the error or who should be held as responsible AND punished suitably!
That's not ALL; not a single politician is willing to raise his/her voice; to force the culprits to return the stolen wealth & neither does a government insists. Why is that?
That too is not ALL; why do you think that the past & present crooks are generously permitted to be elected, re-elected and continue to enjoy their benefits?
They were supposed to enjoy long prison sentences but are reasonably quickly out to continue to remain politically active [not to mention that the masses actually help them get elected or re-elected]!
Can't U see that there is SOMETHING so hilariously wrong?

Feb 08th, 2019 - 06:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I sure can see that something is seriously wrong, but I find nothing hilarious in it. It's a matter of culture, which has deteriorated after the mentality of the 'colonels of the North East' spread in Congress and over most of the country. I have a theory about it, based on pure observation and a few facts, but it's far to extense to think about airing it on here.

You may not be but certainly looks like a vast majority simply enjoys getting raped repeatedly, thoroughly AND that too for such a very long time; that they'll miss the torture, if the politicians for some weird reason, suddenly become serious about improving the country:

Feb 10th, 2019 - 08:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0OK, can agree that ....vast majority simply enjoys getting raped repeatedly...., and that is because they are too stupid to realize they are, in fact, being prejudiced. The fact remains, there were two choices : either leave things as they were, in which case they should have voted for the inmate's candidate (himself a crook), or try to change things for the better....surely after 15 years of PT, you'd think that even the more ignorant would see through their shallow promises.

Since the population is totally disinterested in a revolt; as I mentioned earlier; the only remaining choice is to replace one crook by another - a Russian Roulette!
And as far as changing things for the better is concerned: U r aware of my reservations [sceptical sarcasm]!
Speaking about The Russians”; I think that Wikipedia may have a probable explanation to the problem:
