Besides the apparently” crazy request to Spain and the Vatican, sounds like his ultimate objective would be to - IF Spain and the Vatican acquiesced - to then file for indemnity, on behalf of Mexico's indigenous population - (and of course, himself) - in order to guarantee his comfortable retirement.
