For the 2nd time - “... the Constitution is owned by the people of the Falklands, and if they choose to change it, then that’s their prerogative, that’s their decision.”

    If only that were true.

    Mr. Roger Lorton....

Our only consolation is that this Engrish armed farces commander ought to to know more about defence than democracy..., lad...

Soldiers that know more about defence than democracy.......

Wonder if that is why some countries are prone to be continually taken over by their own soldiers?

    Is that you..., Skippy...?

Our very own auld Rainbow Warrior mate from Ozzilia...?
You're aware that them Armed Farces from anywhere are anything but democratic..., ain't ya lad...?
And that soldiers “Basic Instinct” and goal in life is to deprive other people from their democratic right to life..., right...?

Anyhow..., long time no see... You must be married with children by now...

    Or maybe not...;-)))

That is an interesting take on what armed forces stand for and are used for. And how very Argentinean I would say.

Hailing from a country that has been taken over by its military so many times.... you have unique first-hand experiences to support your viewpoint of armed forces depriving people of their democratic rights.

Experiences that we will never share.

As for married with children.... if only you knew the truth. Aah, the possibilities that are available living in a rich, stable, prosperous country like mine.

Alas, more experiences we will never share!

    Geeeeeeeeeee.....

    The same auld Sippy alright...

Defending the indefendible without any experience whatsoever...
I somehow doubt the Ozzie Armed Farces are a democratic sorority organizing spring break partys at Bondi..., lad...

    By the way...., Skippy...
You memory ain't getting any better..., huhhhh....?
I happen to be citizen of not one..., but two Countries that score higher than Ozzitralia as the happiest Countries in the world indexes.. remember....?
(And without the need of burying ourself under a ton of SPF50 sunscreen daily to enjoy the great outdoors... :-)))

But Think, you live in Patagonia. Isn't that right under the ozone hole?

That map is for successive May readings, but the ozone hole forms in spring. Take a look at this:

    https://ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov/Scripts/big_image.php?date=2018-09-13&hem=S

Or this one from longer ago:

    ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov/Scripts/big_image.php?date=2003-10-06&hem=S

Of course you're not likely to be out sunbathing in September and October, but a hat might be in order...

Also I looked up UV index for Australia and apparently 14 is common! I didn't even know the scale went up that high. Truly, everything in Australia is trying to kill you.

    Mr. DemonTree...

    You said...: “Right Under”..., boy...

In my primitive understanding of the Engrish language..., if somebody made an appointment with me to meet *“Right Under”* the Big Ben..., I would go to the vicinity of 67 Bridge Street..., not to 33 Bruton Street...

    Capisce...?

Suuuuuure. Big Ben is just like a gigantic atmospheric phenomenon that regularly covers 20m sq km. ;)

It's your skin getting fried. You (and Chicureo) should just be glad the ozone hole was spotted 30 years ago, before all the right-wingers went crazy and decided to believe in witchcraft instead of science and/or they want to watch the world burn.

Big Ben is bigger than that..., lad...
Its ominous shadow once covered some 35,500,000 km2 of our planet...;-)

That's nearly as big as the surface of the moon, we should hurry up and colonise that.

It could have been worse, could have been the short-but-ominous shadow of the French Emperor covering the world. :)

  • Think

Yeahhhhh..., you go and “colonize” Engrishman...
Big Bens shadow was certainly long and ominous enough...
But its dongs...! its BBC'ed dongs sounded for millions of us like this...:

People actually suffered cause of the British Empire, pretending to be a victim is kind of distasteful...

Nope, but saying 'we suffered' this or that seems like... I remembered, they call it 'appropriation', but anyway, it doesn't seem right.

“it doesn't seem right”.............. to you Engrishman...

For your lot..., those Big Ben dongs are better than Beethoven's 5th...

But I clearly remember my stomach seriously turning at diverse geographical locations because of the gong of those dongs...

    Capisce...?

No, I don't understand at all. I'd have thought the news you'd be afraid of was who had been disappeared in Argentina.

Hmmm, no experience.... please feel free to point me to the post from which you base that claim.

But after all that deflection, you actually don't live in a rich, stable, prosperous country like mine!

    So, yeah, whatever!

    You are soooooo right..., Skippy...

Just now I am in a crazily disorganized, bureaucratic, rich in every immaginable sense of the world, fun, unstable country where my humble micro offshore pied a terre overlooking the Ligurean sea is placed...
Now..., if you excuse me..., my pizza totanata is getting cold...

    Ciaaaaao...
