An armed man was arrested in the Casa Rosada, Argentina’s presidential office, who tried to enter on the grounds that he had an audience with President Mauricio Macri. The suspect was carrying a box with a Magnum 44 Taurus revolver and was arrested by the Military House before entering the building, according to information from the Government office in Buenos Aires. The article above fails to mention that the man is a militant of Cambiemos and that the revolver was unloaded.

Oh, and there was a bomb alert in Casa Rosada as well.

Needed some stories beside the Cordoba election results.

Are you complaining because they didn't report the bomb threat, or because they did report the armed weirdo trying to reach the President? Some people are never happy.

Also, when are you going to tell JB all the wonderful things Evita accomplished?

I am not complaining -- just providing some information missing in the story published by MP. Without saying who the guy was, of course many readers will assume it was an opposition job.

However, I am just suspicious about both “alerts.” The Macri government has so far produced judicial events -- for example, opening a new case to Cristina -- every time something unflattering occupied the newspapers' front pages.

Watch for more bizarre events as the October election approaches. These people will be using every trick they have as they become more desperate.

DT, I am not going to become JB's history teacher. I do not have time or patience to engage the dinosaurs who comment here. (No offense to the true dinosaurs).

JB is not looking at learning anything. If he did, he has huge resources online, including YT videos where Evita history has been deployed under diverse lenses.

The link below is to a YT video in English.

Why Kamerad/Komrade Rique, What a wonderful time to remind you that I sincerely wish the same Mosaic plague on you that befell your fellow murderous, genocidal fellow Argentine journalist/politicians Mitre and Sarmiento who advocated killing the Paraguayans in the womb.
Want to play dumb and claim you don't know what I am alluding to? No problem if it happens I will gladly send one of these to the service...

    @EM
“Without saying who the guy was, of course many readers will assume it was an opposition job.”

That would be foolish without more information, especially after the politicians' murder turned out to be for personal reasons. Has the armed man said what his motive was?

“However, I am just suspicious about both “alerts.””

You seem a tad paranoid. Looking at it logically, a fake bomb alert is low risk, but also isn't going to stay in the news for long. Doesn't seem much good as a distraction from long term economic problems. And for a short term distraction they could announce some new plan or initiative without resorting to subterfuge. On the other hand, the armed man in the Casa Rosada didn't do anything dramatic and was arrested. Going to jail for threatening the president is quite a sacrifice for not much benefit, isn't it?

Re JB, he is willing to listen to other people's views. The fact he disagrees with you on some subjects does not make him a dinosaur, and he's not here to cheer lead for Macri. It wouldn't be too hard to list what Evita's major achievements are in your opinion, and when you don't reply to questions like that it makes it look like you can't come up with an answer.

    EM,

”(No offense to the true dinosaurs)”

Just curious, why are you concerned about offending lifeforms that have been extinct for millions of years with brains the size of a walnut? Are they kindred spirits?

    So be it.
