There remains a long stretch ahead to correct the notion that women may be subject to abuse or be killed or maimed by men.
The notion of a just killing -- especially in infidelity cases -- was glorified in the lyrics of several famous tangos, some sung by Carlos Gardel, Edmundo Rivero and others.
There remains work to be done with the judicial and the police systems, especially in rural areas, where women have often little or no recourse against men's violence.
To do that, however, Argentina needs a receptive government -- which is not the case currently.

--which is not the case currently ? sounds like a cheap dig at Macri....or do you think this started in 2016 ? and that under darling CFK (and before), no women were killed just because of the fact they were women / unable to defend themselves from jealous husbands, boyfriends or ex-companions ?
In case you haven't realized, this is part of the Latin American men's macho mentality...it is deeply imbedded in their culture and has been going on for decades.
I think we agree on this, and while on this note, feminicídio in Brazil is breaking records, month after month....Since the 80s, dozens of thousands of women have been murdered ....nothing to be proud of.
