Wouldn't expect anything different from the unions and civil servants in this country .....blockading factory entrances, not allowing the wokers in - blocking highways and main avenues with garbage and burning tyres - setting fire to cars to make people afraid of trying to get to work - paralyzing public transport, preventing workers from getting to their jobs (including failed attempts to set buses on fire...with the passengers still inside)....and then counting them all as being strikers...
Jun 18th, 2019 - 10:06 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's just the PT and its cronies - the left-wing unions - at work, nothing else. And it's exactly that kind of sh*t that got Brazil into the recession in the first place. People are starting to recognize the PT, PCdoB , PSOL for the shit they are.

Jun 19th, 2019 - 02:19 am - Link - Report abuse 0Sounds much more like a mind-boggling style of taking everyone [+ the ignorant, illusioned & brainwashed] for a ride [wild-goose-chase] in a classic political stunt!
As mentioned elsewhere; I FIRMLY believe that Once a politician; ALWAYS a crook [and vice versa]!
The stolen wealth is a watered-down version of the actual figure! The Total Stolen Wealth for the last fifty or so years by the 2'000 or so politicians could easily reach well beyond trillions and unchecked; will continue to go on increasing! Pl. make YOUR OWN Calculation:

So at this rate, by ANY kind of Economic Reforms, the State/Fed-Income can NEVER exceed the 'expenditure'! The Economic-Crisis may only seem to vanish by an Elusive, Cosmetic+Superficial Ineffective Modifications!
Realistically speaking; Believe it or NOT:
- the crisis is here to stay
- the standard of living will dwindle
- the quality of life will worsen
- the cost of living will sky-rocket [or at least take-off]

Didn't notice you condemning the 'Bolsonaro placard' waving truckers for allowing hospitals to closed, serious shortages, and blockaded highways. As a result of their activities.

JUNE 19, 2019
Jun 22nd, 2019 - 01:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0In the EU Parliament, PT Congressional leader presents evidence that the US Department of Justice repeatedly violated Brazilian law in its collaboration with the Lava Jato investigation, which damaged the Brazilian economy, opened the door for massive privatization of Brazilian natural resources to American corporations, and led to the illegitimate election of right wing extremist Jair Bolsonaro.
On Thursday, June 18th, PT Congressional leader Paulo Pimenta accused the United States of coordinating the corrupt Lava Jato investigation which, as the Intercept has now revealed through publishing leaked social media conversations between task force members, actively worked to protect conservative politicians from the investigation while removing former President Lula from the 2018 elections and helping elect right wing extremist Jair Bolsonaro to the presidency.
In a blatant quid pro quo, Lava Jato task force leader Sérgio Moro was given a key cabinet position by Bolsonaro.
The Brazilian lawmaker presented European Union Parliament with 13 archives documenting illegal US collaboration in the investigation, saying that “there is already a strong suspicion, based on facts, that Operation Car Wash was politically instrumentalized in order to produce objectively harmful effects on Brazil.” The report is reproduced in its entirety here.
In public statements on July 19, 2017, Mr. Kenneth Blanco, then Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), and Mr. Trevor McFadden, then Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice spoke of cooperation between US authorities and the Operation Car Wash task force that was based on “trust” and occasionally took place outside of “formal processes”. Acting Assistant Attorney General Blanco said that, “This trust allows prosecutors and agents to have direct communications regarding evidence.”

In any nation that was even minimally civilized the case against Lula, as well as a good part of Operation Car Wash in general, would have been dismissed a long time ago due to the glaring disregard of the right of innocent until proven guilty and due process.
Operation Car Wash implemented a veritable free-for-all against the PT and Lula which included illegal coercion, psychological torture of witnesses, induction of guided plea bargain testimonies, illegal leaks of telephone conversations, unequivocal use of Bayesian inference and an ocean of political convictions in a desert of evidence.

“Podemos tirar…”: Lava Jato’s protection of Fernando Henrique Cardoso
At this time a Reuters article was published, featuring quotes from former President Cardoso, in which he admitted that the Petrolão as it was called, the corruption scheme between Brazil’s 51% state owned oil company Petrobras, and its national construction sector, had begun in 1997, under his government and pre-dated Lula and the Workers Party taking office on January 1 2003.
This admission ran counter to the narrative being built, namely that the Workers Party was “a criminal enterprise” with sole responsibility for Petrobras related corruption cases.
Referring to Cardoso (FHC) Sérgio Moro said in the leaked conversations, “we can’t offend someone who’s support is so important.”

Pope encourages jailed Brazilian ex-president 'not to lose hope
Jun 24th, 2019 - 03:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Pope Francis has written a letter to jailed former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva, encouraging him to respect human life and freedom, and exhorting the politician to trust in Jesus Christ.
Popularly known as “Lula,” Brazil’s former president is serving a nearly nine year prison sentence for money laundering and other corruption charges.
The Vatican Secretary of State confirmed the authenticity of the letter.
The May 3 letter was sent by Pope Francis in response to an attentive letter from the former president of Brazil, in which “Lula” thanked the Holy Father for his contribution to the defense of human rights and offered the pope an assessment of Brazil’s political situation.
