“Brazil's federal police arrested four people for allegedly hacking the phone of Justice Minister Sérgio Moro” The word is one of them is a Bolsonaro supporter. It is expected that this is an attempt to rehabilitate Moro. By claiming they altered the original messages. So they didn't hack servers, and the only other possible way is to be within close proximity of original cellphone in order to clone its contents. So its all fake as they are all from São Paulo state and were never ever near the the original cellphones.

Hacking is a serious crime and MUST be punished, isn't it?

Once hacked, there is no limit on which information can be stolen. The hacked-contents can be used by hackers for ANY purpose. THAT's what makes hacking dangerous & a crime!

Once the hacked contents are spread around, there is NO control on how widely/wildly the information can be spread and who is going to use it + for what purpose + in what manner!

Besides, to be fair; the hackers can be hacked too!

“Should it be established that Moro was involved with the Prosecution, his rulings could be
overturned, including the Lula lawsuit which is under consideration by the Federal Supreme Court.
Article 254 of the Code of Criminal Procedure states that “the judge shall pronounce himself or herself suspect, otherwise he or she may be recused by either party” if “he or she has advised either party”.
Furthermore, Article 564 states that sentences handed down by suspect judges may be overturned.”

    REF: “arrested for hacking phones”:

If at all there were motives; I really don't see that - so far - any of the motives have served ANY of the purposes!!!

A new round has begun between The Intercept and Its allies and the Brazilian judicial/police.
The arrest this Tuesday, July 23rd, of four alleged perpetrators of hacking into Moro's cell phone, predicted by Glenn Greenwald last week as a false flag operation, raised suspicions that the Federal Police could be an attempt to stifle the publication of messages by The Intercept Brasil, which have cast doubt on the Impartiality of Lava Jato.
In his Twitter account, editor Leandro Demori said on July 15th that “a ruthless and unscrupulous portion of law enforcement is plotting a farce and an attack on the freedom of the press in Brazil.” Rafael Moro Martins, another editor of the Intercept website, posted on his social media network that he had information that the Federal Police was planning an attempt to discredit the authenticity of the material a few days ago.
“The purpose is so obvious that it names the operation,” says Martins, in reference to the term “Spoofing.” According to the police, “spoofing” is a kind of tech falsification seeking to trick a network or a person into believing that an information source is reliable when it is not.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald also went online to reinforce the authenticity of the messages disclosed by the Intercept: “And who are the prosecutors of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office who confirmed to Correio Braziliense and El Pais that the conversations are authentic? Also, how did Folha de S.Paulo and Veja confirm their authenticity? Moreover, BuzzFeed Brazil? And Barroso today. There is a mountain of evidence to prove that they are real,” Greenwald posted.
The media outlets quoted by the journalist also reported the leaks in partnership with The Intercept and declared that, by their own means, they had confirmed their authenticity.

The Intercept & the Journalists are likely to go nowhere [jailed?] and are just wasting everybody's time.

A vast majority of the population doesn't know and doesn't even care about the findings of the Journalists!

Otherwise, there would have been Hong-Kong Style riots in Brazil!

Hybrid War: Why is Sérgio Moro Still Free?
The crimes that he himself reported should be enough to cause Justice Minister Sérgio Moro’s dismissal and imprisonment. His persistence in office and the explicit US government actions to protect him confirm that he is a central player in the hybrid war into which Brazil has plunged.
From the heights of his decades of experience, journalist Jânio de Freitas called it a table-turning operation. Its apex took place on Thursday (7/25). Justice Minister Sérgio Moro tried, in an extremely brazen move, to destroy the increasingly abundant evidence that, while he was a judge, he acted with blatant partiality to interfere with the 2018 presidential election to favor the coalition of forces that would go on to give him a cabinet ministry.
... Nevertheless, the failure of the table-turning operation left Moro completely unaware of the new crimes he had just committed. It is no longer a question of investigating suspicions raised on his behavior. There is now concrete evidence of malfeasance that Minister Moro deliberately publicized, apparently thinking that it would successfully protect him. He now lacks all moral authority to remain Minister of Justice. It could even be, as Ciro Gomes put it, a case demanding preventative imprisonment, since Moro clearly tried to destroy evidence in a case in which he is a probable defendant. So why does Moro remain in power?
