The extra-judicial assassination of Soleimani in a third country was a despicable act of State terrorism. Apart of being morally outrageous it was politically extraordinarily stupid, opening the Pandora's box to a resurgence of ISIS in Iraq and to copy-cat revenge actions by rogue elements in the region. Why the UK allies itself with a country (USA) with a perennially idiotic and self-defeating foreign policy beats me. Put it down to the FCO obsession with 'punching above our weight' which in practice amounts to little more than being 'little poodle' or 'little Satan. '
