Argentina said it didn’t make US$ 500 million in debt payments due Wednesday, starting a 30-day countdown to a possible default unless the government and bondholders can reach a deal on restructuring its massive foreign debt. Read full article
It looks like the pandemic crisis will allow the Argentine government to kick the can down the road with a petition again for debt forgiveness...
Crime, it seems — does pay indeed...
I have the sad suspicion that Peronism has the survival ability of a cockroach. Saying that, the IMF will probably bail out Argentina instead of destroying the Peronism reoccurring infection.
Argentina will successfully navigate the financial storm as successfully as it has sailed through the coronavirus pandemic. Why? Very simple. Argentines were quick enough to realize Macrism was steering the boat to absolute and total disaster and roundly defeated it after a single term -- something it had never occurred since the return to democracy in 1983.
The result was, Argentines have now a government that is representing the population's majority with a strong and clear mandate to rebuild a country that is Socially fair, Economically free and Politically sovereign.
The wealthiest country in Latin America inhabited by a large percentage of well educated progressive people — that are mesmerized under almost a Grigori Rasputin type character and it results in their total national destruction...
Whether it's Juan Perón or Hugo Chavez, there will always be an idiotic ideologist cockroach like Enrique Massot enthusiastically cheering the lemmings as they go over a cliff...
Not in Argentina now, thanks to the voters who got rid of corrupt, serial liar, lazy man who had gotten elected on bogus promises.
However, those looking for horror have been looking at Chileans blinded and women raped by police. It is true that the C-19 pandemic has switched the attention to Donald Trump‘a daily briefings instead! Talk about scary.
You are a perfect example why Marxist-socialist cockroaches, like yourself are so difficult to sympathize with when someone is trying to exterminate them.
You will too be a part of my delightful Trumpenfreude on November 4th...
Yes, Kamerad/Komrade, let's talk about your wholehearted support for children being blinded by police firing rubber bullets into their eyes at point blank range...(Note: remove the space between : and / to see articles.)
And how about your continuing approval of the use of torture and extrajudicial murder of political opponents à la Steve Biko? (Note: when you finally get what you deserve, I will be saying you committed suicide...)
The fact is, Kamerad/Komrade, you are nothing but a vicious, murderous, torturing pervert, and I await with anticipation enjoying a nice bottle of Chilean Carménère while reading your obituary. :)
In light of the above flurry of unfounded -- and anonymous -- accusations formulated in the above post and taking into account that I post under my real name, I am constraint to make formal declaration that I have never promoted or approved, in any way or shape, any violation of human rights against anybody and that I oppose physical or psychological damages against anybody perpetrated during excessive use of force by authorities or civil groups in any country. Nor do I approve, as falsely stated by the individual under the nickname of imoyaro, of extra judicial murder of any political oponents to any regime in any country.
I also reserve my right to seek damages for threats expressed in the sentence reading: It's really too bad you can't end up in El Helicoide. This statement is alarming and promotes the wish that I be a victim of kidnapping and murder by being thrown from a helicopter as routinely done in Argentina during the civic-military dictatorship that usurped the power between 1976 and 1983.
This comes in to show the recklessness of the individual posting in MercoPress under the nickname imoyaro who does not hesitate to openly promote extra-judicial murder -- something I declare to be adamantly opposed to.
I also set aside my right to judicially pursue the individual nicknamed imoyaro for any damages I would suffer as a result of the defamation statements in the above post.
I also take the opportunity to encourage MercoPress to monitor its Comments Section and to weed out individuals using its forum to promote violent acts in order to scare away those whose opinions differ from their own.
It's always amazing to me how anarchists throw Molotov-cocktails at the police and when the authorities fire back with rubber bullets — the left scream about human rights abuses...
As I've said before, Enrique Massot is a perfect example why Marxist-socialist cockroaches are so difficult to sympathize with when someone is trying to exterminate them.
I find Tovarish Enrique's comment here an affront to many Mercopress readers, and yet I'm not demanding his presence banned from this site...
...yet in an ideal Marxist-socialist environment, the first thing they rigorously attack is free speech...
I have encouraged MercoPress to weed out characters who utter insults and use defamation when hiding behind a nickname. Up to you to call it free speech...however when I look at the insults you are throwing at myself just because of my opinions, you are not exercising free speech at all.
Come on, Chicureo. Read what you have written above and ask yourself whether you would show it to, let's say, your grandchildren. So? Oh, right. I did not think so.
Komrade/Kamerad Rique, you simply can't stand the truth. You support the murderous Castro regime, the murderous Maduro regime, the repressive Putin regime, and of course, the Xi regime which has disappeared dissidents, created the panopticon society, and unleased the Corona virus on the world by covering it up so that it spread more quickly, while distributing faulty equipment which enhanced the spread. Your posts through the years have made this clear. You must silence the truth, because it shows you for what you really are. You support everything I pointed out, and that is something you cannot hide. You are the one that supports extrajudicial murder, and has never denounced it. I have no doubt that you never will.
The Marxist-socialist Enrique Massot cockroach boldly preaches about censoring the people who disagree with him...
I'm reminded how his Marxist-socialist heroes in Venezuela handle statistics...
Babies die in Venezuelan public hospitals there because it is hard to find or afford infant formula. Under the Maduro regime, the clinical diagnosis of infant malnutrition has been prohibited.
Note that poor Kamerad/Komrade Rique is lying outright with this statement:
I also reserve my right to seek damages for threats expressed in the sentence reading: “It's really too bad you can't end up in El Helicoide.” This statement is alarming and promotes the wish that I be a victim of kidnapping and murder by being thrown from a helicopter as routinely done in Argentina during the civic-military dictatorship that usurped the power between 1976 and 1983.
Of course El Helicoide has nothing to do with Helicopters. It is the name of a futuristic shopping mall in Caracas that was taken over by SEBIN, the vicious Venezuelan police unit that tortures and disappears opponents of Nick the Mad. Kamerad/Komrade Rique just can't stop lying, and his attempt to dissemble highlights his support for the torture and murders that the building has been modified to house. Don't worry Kamerad/Komrade, I look forward to your suit. You are a monster, and it would be an opportunity to publicize your true character before your next attempt to get you filthy claws on public money...
Chicureo would talk about human rights violations in other countries but won't even mention what has been occurring in his own for several months.
Never before in the world had anti-riot police aimed rubber bullets or tear gas canisters straight to people's eyes.
According to Wikipedia, Civil protests are taking place throughout Chile in response to a raise in the Santiago Metro's subway fare, the increased cost of living, privatization and inequality prevalent in the country. (Talk about the Chilean miracle).
The protests started mid-October 2019 and have caused the death of 29 citizens and over 11,000 were injured. Over 300 of the injured lost one or both eyes as a result of what can only be deliberate on the part of the police.
A bullet to the eye is the price of protesting in Chile, read a NY Times story.
Meanwhile, Chicureo is enjoying wine and delicacies in his cozy place, away from trouble.
It's a beautiful slightly overcast Falł day here in Chicureo and I just returned with my wonderful partner after a pleasant 6km brisk walk...
As two Karl Marx inspired useful idiots are posting trash on numerous threads, this generic message is my response to their repeated ridiculous nonsense...
Marxist-socialist vermin prefer to deny the wonderful economic success of Chile, clearly placing it as the most progressive nation in South America with the HIGHEST GDP and the strongest free market economy. (Yes, we have some inequality and certainly need to improve, but we remain clearly the best on our continent.)
For those cockroaches that blindly praise the great social progress of their glorious hero Maduro, I again remind them that their bête noire will soon again in November be overwhelming reelected: https://youtu.be/tHsZxJlxHYw

I doubt Argentina will manage to keep the peso stable when it all starts to really bite.

I have the suspicion, and the hope, that the new virus sweeps with Peronism. One virus, the coronavirus, will defeat another virus, Peronism.
Doesn’t look like Argentina has the capacity to deal with either its debts or the Coronavirus on their own, never mind both together.
Apr 23rd, 2020 - 04:16 pm - Link - Report abuse +4There will probably have to be some or other “haircut”, clearly what the Argy Gov is angling for. Question is how much.
And you have to ask the question, who in their right minds buys Argy Gov bonds and does not expect this to happen.
Yet again.
