In one of Gollum’s earlier posts (on ‘Mother of all Scandals’), he kindly informs us “A pedant is a person who is excessively concerned with formalism, accuracy, ... Asperger syndrome often have behavior characterized by pedantic speech.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedant”….
Funny…all his formal quotes – repeated endlessly, saying crap like ”it is not ‘germane’ to the discussion” etc….near the top of the same thread, he quotes Eisenhower :“I despise people who go to the gutter on either the right or the left and hurl rocks at those in the center.”….why copy someone else’s expression, down to a ‘T’, instead of simply paraphrasing ? That’s obvious : he doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to do so…. and then WE are the pedants…
Talking of Asperger’s syndrome, let’s see which of its symptoms appear in Terry : aggressiveness, antisocial behavior, persistent repetition of words (quotes included), rage, no sense of humour, difficulty in learning…enough ? Ah, one more….who in their right mind says “That refutes my contention” ?
Chicureo, not wanting to torture you any more than I already have - totally involuntary, I assure you – just wanted to add that as side dishes, we usually order wild mushrooms and Peruvian asparagus…and for dessert. usually nothing, as no room left.
Regarding the protests in NYC (‘n especially LA), clearly it’s a (very small) violent minority that resort to smashing store windows, and looting, and usually after the ‘legitimate’ protesters have gone home, and under the cover of darkness….when caught in the act, these vandals should be thrown into jail and left to rot. The Manhattan natives you refer to in a US$ 350K SUV, are probably drug dealers….can’t see someone who has earned that kind of money, honestly, resorting to vandalism and robbery.
