The EU don’t actually bring anything to the table in fisheries negotiations, hence trying to tie it to a broader trade deal (which isn’t going to happen anyway) to blackmail concessions, and where they are starting from a maximalist position to say the least.
This is probably the first issue where it sinks in they don’t have the upper hand.
