Once the Brazilian pilots are fully rated — they will be ideal for a flank attack in partnership with the Colombian and US airforces to attack Venezuela.

A surprising choice as at the time the Brazilians were talking a lot about the “blue Amazon”, I half expected them to buy F18s or at least something with a longer range and heavier payload than these Gripens have.

They are very much a short range defensive fighter, which can land and take off from a Motorway.

Swedish military thinking says the Russians will first attack their airfields, these Gripens can land, refuel and rearm then take off from almost any stretch of motorway.

Some 30% of the Aircraft (by value) are British made systems, so we have done very well out of this.

    Thankyou Brazil.
