Mexico and Argentina have delayed a key meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank until after the Nov. 3 U.S. election, delivering an early setback to plans by the bank’s new U.S. chief to install vice presidents from smaller countries. Read full article

Oct 30th, 2020 - 05:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Good to see Argentina, once again, defending Latin America against the USA puppets and Trump imperialists. We will not accept it. Why not Argentinian, Bolivian, Cuban and Venezuelan bankers as Vice Presidents? What about universal income for all Latin American people? The IDB must be modernized to improve its governance.
Oct 31st, 2020 - 07:43 am - Link - Report abuse 0I like the concept of universal income for us.
Oct 31st, 2020 - 06:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 0How much would they pay me and where exactly will the income derive from?
If it is sourced from those rich Argentine's living abroad — we can really have a great fun fiesta!
Taxes on multinational corporations and billionaire oligarchs. It is time to share the wealth the world creates with all and not just a few.
Nov 01st, 2020 - 11:26 am - Link - Report abuse 0A nice idea in principle, however unless the taxes are applied everywhere equally, they will just move jurisdictions.

Nov 01st, 2020 - 02:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You just don't understand simple economics. We Latin Americans will unify under the blinding light of socialism and force all the multinationals and bourgeoisie billionaires to give us their plundered riches they stole from the impoverished proletariat workers like myself.
Friedrich Engels explained it all and why I'm an adherent believer that someone needs to send me money — lots of it!
Workers of Latin America — UNITE!
...then again — probably there's a catch somewhere...
There is no moral right to being wealthy on the back of fellow human labor. It is a theft of resources from the majority and unsustainable. The creator created us equal on this planet and we all must share our resources regardless of where you were born or what you think you own. When you leave this world you own nothing. This is why Cuba, Venezuela, and now Argentina have been so successful in establishing socialist values that the world now looks to as an example of how the world must work. Surely this is more than obvious?

Nov 02nd, 2020 - 11:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0One troubling question.
I have a neighbor in our Santiagio neighborhood of Chicureo who tells me the reason why he abandoned a successful business in Venezuela and moved to Chile was to the economic oppression there.
Also, I work with 3 Venezuelans who now work on my family farm for the same reason! Could it be that the socialist govenment there have failed the proletariat masses?
And Cuba — aren't people there still struggling with the basic goods to live decent lives?
I'm told in Venezuela that on a national average — citizens there have lost several kilos of body weight due to the lack of food. Medicine is very limited and many have died because of the inequality.
I do however think that the Marxist socialism of Cuba will be ideal for the Argentines — because they eat too much beef and many suffer from obesity.
It's time Argentines go on a strict socialist restrictive diet!
¡Viva Argentina!
This new Fito Garcia guy... is he a Poe or what?

By the way — I've been with Pugol on the Polish abortion thread and THINK on the jet fighter commentary. Jack has reappeared on the vaccine thread.
I myself will be dining on Madame's salmon and avocado salad with Buttercrunch variety lettuce which I highly recommend planting! The herbed garlic croutons are made in a fry pan and the lemon garlic aioli will be whipped just before serving.
I hear the UK shutdown has become very serious — how is it affecting your family?
Cheers!
If business people think they can exploit workers in Venezuela and there will be no repercussions then they are mistaken. Chavez and Fidel have changed the world forever and we cannot go back, Each country is moving towards equality for all whether you like it or not. There will be more revolutions because the capitalist machine only understands greed over love for your fellow humans. Love is what matters not money. You will find this out the easy way (Argentina, Venezula, Cuba) or the hard way (USA, UK, EU)
Nov 03rd, 2020 - 06:51 am - Link - Report abuse 0What does the word Venezuela really mean? Nothing
What we are talking about is the land that the creator gave us so that everybody could be equal and not one taking advantage of the other. Its morality over personal gain and not only for humans but also nature and the natural world.
Morality for the natural world? What is that supposed to mean? Isn't nature red in tooth and claw? Was the meteorite that ended the reign of the dinosaurs moral?

I found the other threads, thanks. The second shutdown has not affected us much yet, although we were unable to visit my sister and her family as planned because London was in lockdown. We have also received an un-invitation to our friends' wedding, as guests are now limited to 15 and their families fill that. It is very sad. I also heard that shops have sold out of necessities again. People are such idiots.

Nov 04th, 2020 - 04:03 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Not really possible to “exploit workers in Venezuela” or Cuba for that matter, they have nothing to take.
Venezuela is on the edge of mass starvation and in Cuba they dirt poor, ok they (Cuba) have a good health system but they still live in what the USA, UK, EU consider as poverty.
Both the Bolivarian Utopias are going to collapse sooner rather than later, especially Venezuela.
