Argentina...the definition of delusion. And the gift that keeps on giving. A country whose collective cheese slid off it's cracker 100 years ago. Well, as Joseph de Maistre said “Every nation gets the government it deserves.”

You have to give Argentina credit for planning and being ready for the transition of the islands governance back to Buenos Aires. The UK is on the verge of bankruptcy snd BREXIT will lead to deep economic suffering for the country and its people. They wont be able to support the Malvinas economically and Argentina is will have to step in. Withourt our support the islands will be bankrupt to. The empire is collapsing and now becoming the economic basket case of Europe

The Islands are Self Sustaining and the only Money from the UK is for the Deployed British Forces, The Falklanders will still be there Long after Argentina has broken up, there Proxy Council is Nothing more than Propaganda for Gullible Argentines like “Fito Garcia”.

Fito- Since When has the islands been financially dependent on UK Govt?
The Islands have been financially independent of the UK - as regards the annual costs of running the Govt-wages-education-health etc (not defence I agree) since the 1890s!
For many years the Islands actually contribute to the UK economy- we hire people form there and a big part of their wages ends up in the UK economy and we buy £ several millions of all sorts of goods from UK each year- that is money for the UK economy and wages for British people there.

defence of the Islands - cost is less than half of 1% of the UK defence Budget! And if not posted here - those service people would just be in UK or elsewhere- not made redundant. So only cost to UK is the logistics of keeping them here. Offset against that- a very good training area here.
Me thinks it is Argentina who is nearer bankruptcy than UK.

    Minutes of first meeting:-

    Chair..

“Are all 165 members of the committee present? - put your hand up if you're not here. OK nobody has put there hand up so everybody must be here.

So what progress has been made in our attempt to create an Argentine South Atlantic Empire? .... come on, come on somebody must have something to say - Marcelo Kohen stop sucking your thumb!!

So nobody has anything to say therefore meeting is closed. Next meeting next month same time, same place.

Marcelo Kohen, don't pick your nose it's not nice.

Everyone please collect your $5,000 attendance money at the door”.

The minimum is increasingly minimal. We are on the verge of nuclear fission.

    Check the photo!

Only one of the geniuses knows where the Falkland Islands are, he has to show the other members where they are.

You can't even take care of the tens of millions of Argentines who are living below the poverty line.

What a waste of a country!!

IMF visiting Buenos Aires next week I hear?

Argie Governments always shout loudest about the archipelago, when they are in serious financial trouble. Have they shouted loudly this week? Oh, yes. Looks like argie land is once again, in the brown and smelly

The no doubt big costs of yet another committee doing nothing, whilst the country is already bankrupt.

Seriously, the Islanders have nothing to fear from this bunch of idealog Clowns. Couldn’t run a piss up in a brewery, never mind an economy or invasion.

Yes, Argentina is a proverbial paradise lost...

...the health system is so advanced — its wealthy citizens regularly travel abroad for medical care...

One of the richest, diverse and blessed land masses in the world that has been inhabited by a group of people who can't balance a simple checkbook...

...a century ago they were the 5th richest country in the world...

Today they have the same credit rating of Zimbabwe...

But then again, other than beautiful women — their bife de chorizo still reigns one of the finest pleasures on our continent...

Argentina is a VEGAN PARADISE as their delicious beef is slaughtered from grass eating steers...

    ¡Saludos!

“Diego” was a self-confessed cheat, an almost honest Argentinian admitting to being a cheat.

    Snort, snort.
