UK is the economic basket case of Europe thanks to Brexit and the right wing populists who pushed it through. Next step is Scottish independence, the breakup of the UK, collapse of the pound and the the return of the Malvinas to Argentina. At least the islanders will get some more stability with Argentina and a chance of a better life.

Loving, peaceful and helpful Argentina is trying so hard to make the lives of the islanders as miserable as the lives of the Argentinians but it can't.
The war allowed the UK to reset the Labour concessions, Argentina has no way of enforcing its vetos on the Island development of fishing, oil etc. as it used to, so it is trying something new!
One can always count on help and nothing but good will from Argentina. The neighbour from hell.

It's an educational and cultural thing and if you haven't been exposed to the finer things in life then you its understandable. But come visit and we can teach and develop you in the these areas. It’s also the right for everyone to determine what their country should do, Brexit isn’t such a bad thing as you are portraying, you cannot say we are becoming the “basket case of Europe” when despite being in a pandemic our economy grew.

Even the Greeks have better financial knowledge than Argentina.

Don’t dictate what’s right or wrong to people, especially about something like Brexit where you Argentinians wouldn’t know Jack about.

The idea of Brexit is to regain our sovereignty and political power, which was slowly eroded away for 40 years by the United States of Europe.

Talk about the Falklands all you want, but if you start on Brexit, you are entering my territory bruh, I will set you straight.

Also to criticise a culture’s food because in your opinion it’s bad is not something you should do, I think Indian food is too spicy, but I don’t go around saying their culture is shit because of it! I just... don’t eat the food.

Wasn't BREXIT was determined by a democratic vote TWO separate times?

Just curious because I was not aware over 50% of the Kingdom consisted of fascists...

Also, I take issue about grilled beef over charcoal — if the beef is butchered from grass eating bovines — that categorizes the grilled meat as certifiable vegetarian fare.

Actually — certifiably VEGAN which obviously is the healthiest and I recommend not consuming meat eating cows. That would not qualify as vegan...

Nothing better than a mixed asado on the charcoal grill of pork, blood sausage, chicken and beef.

I have to agree with Zaczac that the Prime Minister forced a vote as a referendum on progressing against resistant forces (including within the Tory Party) that gave him a clear mandate to go forward. ((The citizens of the UK clearly knew what they were voting about.)

Regarding Dr. Allende, I would remind everyone that his victory was obtained with our flawed national constitution with only 36.2% of the popular vote. (Clearly the desires of the many were thwarted by the desires of the few)

Anyway — it was a sad affair and too many lives were lost. Let's hope the current revolution will be more civilized and democratic.

I'm back to Chicureo for the evening after a very satisfying day! The interior barn framed walls and gypsum board are all finished and ready for plastering tomorrow. We earlier laid a cement sub-floor that will require another two weeks of curing before laying a final floor of distressed terracotta tiles.

We wanted to do the project with artisanal crafted doors — but were offered four antique lingue wood doors salvaged from a Santiago demolition — that are beautiful.

Madame today purchased a full loin of lean sirloin — which she sliced approximately 1cm slices for preparing our version of beef Carpaccio (first introduced by Giuseppe Cipriani from Harry's Bar in Venice) which may cause purists to complain — but we love it! (Normally she prepares with paper thin slices — but the beef was exceptionally tender.)

On a large dinner plate Madame places very thinly sliced avocado drizzled with shavings of goat cheese and then overlaid with the slices of sirloin topped with paper thin laminations of sweet red onion, with Casablanca lemon capers, lemon pepper and drops of Basámico vinegar syrup — slightly drizzled with Chilean virgin olive oil and lemon juice.

This is accompanied with garlic butter herbed sourdough and a '08 Viña Arboleda Carménère. Waiting now for a quiet sunset.

Forgive me for upsetting your delicate sense buds...

I grew up in a culturally backwards home where the only cheese came from cows and I still prefer it by far. However was enchanted by a young mademoiselle — who's closest school friend produces (among many gourmet items) goat cheese. (Fortunately her husband somehow tolerates and can afford her hobby.)

It's a matter of marital tolerance and adjusting to my bed partner's eclectic gourmet tastes... (Frankly my side of the family were low class when it came to fine cuisine.)

At least we do not copy the American crimes of altering the Italian cuisine — although I have been guilty of ordering a Papa John's pizza here in Chicureo.

But the actual culinary crime of altering an Italian dish needs to be understood — that it was developed in the famed Harry's Bar and allows for wild interpretations. (Madame's salmon version uses stone ground German style mustard.)

The wine is really excellent tonight!

Frankly, I have been exceptionally critical from the very beginning of the entire sordid domestic criminal refitting of the ARA San Juan. Unlike Peru, Brazil and Chile who follow the German manufacture's strict guidelines — there are some members of the Argentine admiralty (as well as politicians) who are guilty of murder.

Your navy however does have the best officers mess dining of Latin America — but they cannot keep their ships maintained — much less manage a single submarine.

As duly recorded in MercoPress's archive, you were indeed...:
***“Exceptionally critical from the very beginning of the entire sordid domestic criminal refitting of the ARA San Juan.”***
    BUT:
    1) At the time you tried to put the blame exclusively on the 2008 refitting of the submarine and on the Kirchner administration.

    2) That was already then a problematic accusation..., because the refitting process was..., from the beginning to the end..., 100% under the technical and economical control of the Argie Navy. NO CIVILIAN INVOLVMENT WHATSOEVER.

    3) The “Final?” official Argie Armed Farces report of 2019 states that..., the day before its dissapearence..., the submarine had a malfunction on its fawlty mantained snorkel system..., that due to water ingress to one of the battery banks it was a little electrical fire..., that the submarine surfaced and the fire was extinguished... Next day the captain radioed to base that he was to submerge to 40m and try to start battery operation again... The submarine sank with all souls onboard.

    4) Newest development on this case are...:
    - a) The Argie Navy AND the Macri Administration did from day one coluded in all possible ways to hide the fkucking officiality responsibility for this crime..., even threatening the dead tripulation families into silence.

    - b) Latest development is a fkucking joke of an Argie admiral declaring in front of a civilian judge yesterday that the Argie Navy..., Macri's Defence Minister and Macri himself KNEW THE EXACT POSITION OF THE DEMISED SUBMARINE ~20 DAYS AFTER HER SINKING.

    - c) The Argie Navy AND the Macri Administration dastarts kept her position secret for a FULL YEAR..., having the Chutzpah of organizing and announcing her “finding” ONE WHOLE YEAR LATER..., precisely on the anniversary of her sinking.

Fromage insults aside — in the final analysis — the admiralty is completely responsible for allowing the ridiculous modification to occur. What has been earlier reported is in 2017 — your country's intelligence service illegally spied on the ARA San Juan families — BUT the vessel underwent a criminal upgrade starting in 2008 — so the Macri Presidential administration is not solely responsible.

During one of the very few times I've vacationed with Madame in Europe — we were always discovering the wonderful varied cuisine of the different villages there. In your current location — as well as along the entire Mediterranean coast is a gourmet paradise.

I remember on the first visit there noticing the cheese selection. There were more cheeses in one little shop than I had ever seen in my life. Soft and creamy goat cheeses, hard and strong sheep cheeses, tender brie and blue cheese with thick mouldy veins. There were cheeses of every shape, size and variety.

As you well know in southern Europe — especially France, good cheese and of course fresh baked bread usually along with wine – is one of the important elements of a meal.

As Madame has been busy with ceramics — this evening's meal here in Chicureo is cold beef sandwiches dressed with German honey mustard and horseradish on sourdough bread accompanied with the leftover bottle of last night's Carménère.

Busy today as the plasterwork has just been completed and the we'll be able to paint in a couple of weeks. The doors have also now been hung.

The upgraded barn roof will be finally reassembled sometime next week.

The unfortunate deaths of the submarine crew all point to some sort of failure (with the one exception that a UK ”bomb was responsible) but even during the extensive refitting of the San Juan — there were accusations of incompetence. Even the radio communications of the submarine were inadequate and were obviously evident during the initial stages of the distress calls.

Obviously you'll reject “biased” commentary from revistamarina.cl — but there was a long critical string of negative commentary of the refit on The Maritime Executive.

One example: “German public radio outlet BR reported earlier this month that Ferrostaal and battery maker EnerSys-Hawker may have paid bribes for a $6 million contract for new battery cells for a 2011 overhaul of the San Juan. Germany's anti-corruption authorities are said to be investigating whether any improper transactions occurred in connection with the submarine contracts.” https://www.maritime-executive.com/article/bribery-suspicions-in-ara-san-juan-investigation

So — does that mean anything? No, but the suspicion in the international community was/is very high. Time will eventually will tell.

    Hermanito...

Anything is ***“a probable cause of anything”*** in a reality as yours..., ruled by vaporous hearsays..., paranoia and preconceptions...

In my boring reality... ruled (mostly) by the scientific methodology that includes tangible documentation and analysis of facts..., I kindly ask you again...:

Have you anything tangible for me about the topic in question..., or just another of your Shicuréo “hunches” like that “unavoidable” Trump re-election...?

    Capisce...?

To ease your sensitive anxiety about me exposing your corrupt navy — I have absolutely no evidence that cutting a finely West German constructed pressure hull in two — and then wielding it back together again in Argentina — had ANYTHING to do with the submarine imploding deep in the South Atlantic Ocean.

In respect to the senseless death of your sailors I'll hope someday that the actual truth will eventually be exposed — but don't hold your breath.

    Estimado Shicuréo...

I more than hope that the truth will be exposed..., I know it will...

Remember that we Argies have more than enough experience on these matters...

More than 1,500 of our milicos de mierda have already gotten looooong prison sentences...

Dictator Videla gave me the extra pleasure of dying whilst sitting in a prision toilet taking a dump...

When are you gonna follow our good example..., hermanito...?
You could “serve” the people of Shile la Lucia Chica and el Juan Miguel as hors d'oeuvres...

    Capisce...?

As you know my CV — I was not involved in the unfortunate activities of A2 — so what's your point? Or are you just in a sour mood today?

My day was marvelous — as my sleeping companion remains contented — so far...

I just returned from our favorite seafood supplier here in Chicureo with 3 dozen shelled black edged clams and a very large fresh filet of Lenguado (Sole) — so this evening's fare will be enjoyable with a chilled champenoise.

The only CV you've revealed to me is naval — which is a work of creative fiction — as all military CVs.

I assume you're referring to pasta al pesto Genovese?

We, the Latin American socialists of the 21rst Century commit to a new Socialist manifesto:

    1. Expel the Britsh invaders out of the Malvinas
    2. Nationalization of British oil & mining companies in Latin America
    3. Guarantee of free health care and education to all Latin American people and provide a universal income to everybody regardless of background
    4. Return stolen land from the Chilean invaders to Bolivia
    5. Commit to a Latin American military force to protect against further imperial invaders
    6. Provide a free Scientology spiritual education to all citizens and promote a spiritual connection with our planet and the creative force that provides for us all
    7. Slaughter of animals will be prohibited and Vegan plant based diets will be mandatory across the region
    8. Ban capitalism and all financial speculation
    9. Prohibit the use of poisonous vaccines

This is our manifest and we are winning support in all countries. Change is underway.

“Slaughter of animals will be prohibited and Vegan plant based diets will be mandatory across the region”

But who will feed the animals as they run wild across our continent? Even in India the sacred cow thing is not completely followed and they slaughter chickens by the millions...

    Can we still eat fish?
