Argentina is holding the pro tempore rotating chair of Mercosur during the next six months and three are its main objectives during that period according to foreign ministry sources in Buenos Aires. They include Bolivia, the Falklands/Malvinas claim and trade accords and negotiations with other countries. Read full article

Abusing the pro tempore rotating chair of Mercosur to advance one country's loony ideas - why aren't I suprised.

I feel certain that the other Mercosur members will be overly happy about the abuse, instead of doing the utmost to clinch the deal with EU.

And why do the people care about these claims, or about how much money and energy Argentina spends on the matter?

From what I see, Argentines simply ignore the wishes of the islanders and therefore avoid ranting about why “Falklanders don't want to be Argies.”

So why don't the people of the Falkland Islands do the same? Just avoid ranting about any of such argie campaigning effort. Would Mercosur change anything?

Publicly complaining about what Argies do on a political level doesn't make any sense.
