Although I completely agree with the concern about the Amazon basin deforestation — the sad truth is this is a political scam being unfairly targeted against Bolsonaro.

Both Lula and Dilma turned a blind eye to massive deforestation and actually encouraged it — yet the global community did not threaten the sanctions they are now proposing.

There are several countries with territory in the Amazon basin that are allowing the deforestation to continue unimpeded. Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Columbia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana are just as guilty.

This is not an environmental argument — but instead an attack against Bolsonaro!
