If I was Mercosur I would be more worried about the Bolsonaro family shooting it's mouth off more than New Zealand making trade agreements with China. The main exports from this region are more in conflict with the exports from Australia than New Zealand. Unfortunately, for Australia, they have a Bolsonaro sound alike running their country. Slinging off at China and criticizing China has become a political norm for Australia. New Zealand on the other hand has learnt to always show respect to others. Australia does not like being told what to do by it's little brother so the advice given to them has fallen on deaf ears. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-01-28/nz-trade-minister-advises-australia-to-show-china-more-respect/13098674
With this in mind Mercosur has no worries about the New Zealand - China Free Trade Agreements. As long as they can keep a certain ruling Brazilian family shut up.
